Happy #LMMontgomeyMonday with my Angus and Robertson editions.

Not a complete collection yet but it’s slowly growing. The latest addition was Rilla of Ingleside from a book exchange- I wish the previous owner would know how excited I was about finding it.

Cross your fingers that I find a few more soon and I am also looking out for extra copies for a couple of friends.

Thank you Sydney Writers Festival for a fabulous few days.

From the opening night and gala with my gorgeous friend Emma Babbington on Wednesday where we heard from incredible writers Kirli Saunders, Lily King, Robbie Arnott, Michael Pedersen and Nikita Gill, to Saturday’s brilliant lineup featuring Dervla McTiernan and Hayley Scrivenor, the Feast Session with Jennifer Wong amongst others and then the powerful sold-out session ‘Silenced’ with Antoinette Lattouf, Randa Abdel Fattah, Michael Mohammed Ahmed and Jan Fran. Absolutely unforgettable.

I would have been happy to end my day there, but hubby and I headed down to Sydney’s Town Hall later to see international best-selling sensation RF Kuang in conversation with Carody Culver.

So inspiring and lots of fun!

Wonderful as always to bump into SO many friends down at the festival precinct. Too many to name, but you know who you are!

Until next time!

I had a little dash around Sydney meeting booksellers and signing copies. ✨

I must admit, walking into @dymockssydney on George St and having Bert say, “Oh, good! You’re here!” was probably one of the highlights of my career. Most Australian authors will tell you having our books in that particular store feels like the culmination of a lifelong dream. While all my books have been on those shelves, I haven’t walked in and had someone recognise me before, and it was such a delight (as was our manifesting chat about film stars). 🎬

Thank you so much to @dymockseastgate , @harryhartog.bondi @qbdbooks Bondi, @abbeysbookshop @collinsbooksellersthirroul and @thebookshopbowral

With apologies to @berrynewsagency and @dymocksnowra - I was heading to you and didn’t make it before closing time. 😭😭

A wonderful time with my publisher Cate Paterson from @allenandunwin and @anna_loder_ from @reada_book_ and a much-needed moment at the ocean. ☀️☀️☀️

Atmosphere

🌟🌟🌟🌟✨

Just catching up on book reviews 🤩

Atmosphere by @tjenkinsreid … is so atmospheric!

When I thought about this story afterwards — which I highly recommend reading in as few sittings as possible to really immerse yourself — I kept reflecting on all its layers.

🧅 It’s like an onion. 🧅

🌱 Family atmosphere and dynamics — between sisters, and between aunt and niece.

🌱 Relationship atmosphere — between astronauts and everyone else, between astronauts themselves, and between two particular astronauts.

🌱 Earth atmosphere — and its relationship to space, spacecraft and stars.

🌱 Space atmosphere — and how everything is different when you’re up there, so much so that for some, space isn’t all it’s made out to be.

🍃 Detail atmosphere — how deep should a writer go when they’ve done tonnes of research and want to share their passion for a topic like space and its industry without causing information overload?

Above all, though, this is a love story in all its forms: forbidden love, true love, lost love and broken love...

So, like I said, it’s a bit of an 🧅, and there’s so much to think about!

We read this for book club and everyone felt differently about it, so it was a great pick.

Have you read this one?

What did you think?

Am I going mad noticing all these different component parts, or can you relate?
