THIS WEEKEND: We continue the fall season of the 20th anniversary of The Space Upstairs with our signature jazz-happening SECOND SATURDAY featuring this month’s special music guest REGGIE WATKINS!

- Doors open 8p | Music 9-11p | $15 at the door -
* pre-sale tickets at link in bio

It’s light bulbs and couches, coffee tables and deconstructed pianos, piles of chalk and books. It’s vivid splashes of light and projection and poetry scribbled on the walls. And improvisational postmodern-jazz dance performances by The Pillow Project with live jazzed music throughout the night!

Hosted by Jaka Zakajinn with different musical guests each month, SECOND SATURDAYS are modern speakeasy-magic and spontaneous art in our 4,000 sq/ft warehouse-gallery loft-space... And it’s one of Pittsburgh’s best kept secrets!

*SECOND SATURDAYS is proudly a sober event and serves several house infused waters, mocktails, specialty iced coffees and other seasonal drinks and refreshments by donation at The Space Bar.

In this episode, host, Iris Schreiner, sits down with current senior ballet concentration at Point Park University, Anna Castleman. As another “bunhead”, ballet was always the end goal for Anna, with collegiate plans decided early on from her family support and influence. While taking a break from ballet, Anna realized her true passion in dance and continued chasing it in each new aspect. From a strict ballet technique background to expanding her dance vocabulary into improvisational movement, she truly wants to go after a dance career, however life leads her.
