✨”Where I’m Supposed to Be” THE MUSIC VIDEO is OUT NOW! ✨ A journey through three homelands in three minutes🌎🌵🧧🇯🇵 Directed by @romanzaragoza, shot by @romanzaragoza & @earlstanderford, and edited by @ademolaogunnaike.dp. I have never had more fun making a music video. This video was captured over the course of many months in three of four of our ancestral homelands - Taipei Taiwan, Tokyo Japan, and Gila River Arizona (O’odham land). My brother captured most of it on a Super 8 Camera. We could not have done it without @wuihun_thoakug driving us through the desert with Román hanging out the window filming! It was really cool to weave in the stories of these different places into one video. I have a deep connection to each place, and they are all a part of my family’s story. Shout out to @ademolaogunnaike.dp for the killer edit. Grateful for all of the creative minds that came together for this video. ✨✨”Where I’m Supposed to Be” is out now!!✨✨ I wrote this song for all of us who have spent our lives searching for a sense of belonging.. Growing up, I switched schools and moved cities. As an adult, I’ve started over after breakups more times than anyone should. And as a mixed-race person, I’ve felt divided into quarters, always wondering if I’m enough of anything to belong anywhere. If any community would be proud to claim me. So much of my life has been spent longing for something or someone to choose me. It’s taken me 33 years to realize that I have always belonged. That the pieces of me have always made a whole. And that wherever I go, I belong to myself. ✨And I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.. and so are you.✨ Please listen to the song, share it, stream it, buy it, love on it, and dance to it. This one is yours now. 💜 Recording and writing this with @annabschulze and @natclo was so incredibly joyful. I hope you can feel our laughter, and our studio line dancing through the recording. I have been a @thebandjoseph fan for EVER, and getting to write AND sing with @natclo was nothing short of a DREAM COME TRUE. @annabschulze produced, co-wrote, mixed, and played almost EVERY INSTRUMENT on this song! @jordanwest KILLED IT on the drums!!
