My favorite thing about a mini shoot is how approachable and easy they are (so you can show up as you are and leave with photos that actually feel like you!)

I’m still awestruck over this last batch 🥐 of teacher trainees over at @yogarenewhoboken

This was Mélie and I’s fourth 200 hour teacher training as co-leads and man does it just keep getting better! ✨

This time around instead of having the trainees practice teaching 🧘🏻‍♀️ as their final exam, we invited them to give presentations around what Yoga means to them and how they incorporate it in their life outside of the asana practice. (*cue the waterworks 🚰)

The whole weekend felt like the last days at summer camp. ⛺️

We played rugby, and made T-shirts, read Shakespeare, and had a tea ceremony. We hid love letters in each others journals 💌 and even got to take home a piece of a hand crocheted quilt representing the eight limbs of Yoga. 🥹 Are you kidding me!?!? 😭💕

It was soooo sweet!

As someone who’s been teaching Yoga for a while, I have built a cozy comfort zone for myself — teaching what I know works, and sometimes it feels like I’m running on auto pilot. 🛻

Watching each of our newly minted teacher trainees step into a leadership role in this way and share from such a raw, and vulnerable place, cracked me open in a way I didn’t know I was missing. 🪄

I know for a fact that there’s no force on this planet greater than love, and I am so grateful to have found a practice that keeps me connected to the seekers, and lovers, and magic makers unafraid to dance with the divine, and who invite me back into a state of wonder over and over again 🌀

To my dear graduates, thank you for being my teachers, I’m so proud of you all.
