Getting back into fitness instruction after a year off due to my car accident was NOT easy. Pilates and @balanced_body were exactly what I needed to step back into what I love so much.

None of this would be possible without @methodpilatesco for giving me the opportunity to do what I love & @patreafit and her studio @15tofitmethodpilates for giving me the tools to feel confident taking on reformer instruction.

To hear more about my journey with Pilates & learning Balanced Body curriculum from Patrea, paste the link below in your web browser for my Balanced Body’s The CORE article. The link can also be found in my bio! Thank you so much to @balanced_body for the feature 🤗

We completed a really fun and beneficial Balanced Body Reformer 2 teacher training course last weekend. We had so many wonderful students!

Here Mary shows us how to practice Short Box Advanced abs.

Adrienne C states about me:

“Thanks again for the wonderful training. I really enjoy your style of teaching and just to echo what other students have said, your knowledge and genuine care for the practice and people is very inspiring.”

Thank you to all our @balanced_body students near and far!

There’s something special about bringing fitness leaders together 🙌🌊

The 2025 Collegiate Fitness Directors Summit in Wilmington wasn’t just another professional development event. It was a vibrant, people-first experience filled with meaningful conversation, coastal energy, and a whole lot of heart.

From thoughtful immersive roundtables to a forward-looking AI discussion, attendees leaned into what it means to lead with intention in campus recreation.

A few key takeaways that stuck with us:

✔️ When it comes to staff training: Culture > Compliance
Onboarding isn’t just paperwork, it’s culture building. The first day on the job should communicate values, belonging, and purpose.

✔️ Ask first, guide second
Student input is powerful. When we start by listening, we design training that feels relevant and more likely to stick.

✔️ Mentorship beats modules
Pairing new hires with peer mentors builds psychological safety and trust. PDFs can’t replace real relationships.

✔️ Bring back the human
Tech has its place, but connection, clarity, and care are what shape strong teams. Lead with people, not platforms.

We also looked ahead: exploring how AI can support, not replace, student development, giving professionals more space to focus on connection over compliance.
