Try this movement if you want strong hips and back!

Reverse Hyper + Ball Squeeze: An Underrated Combo 🏋️

The reverse hyper is already one of the best tools for spinal decompression and posterior chain strength — but add a ball squeeze between your feet, and you level it up.

Here’s why it works:

🔹 Glute & hamstring activation — squeezing the ball forces co-contraction through the adductors and hamstrings, driving harder glute engagement on every rep

🔹 Core-to-extremity integration — your feet, hips, and low back have to work as one unit to keep the ball locked in, teaching real full-body coordination instead of an isolated leg swing

🔹 Spinal decompression — the traction effect on the lower back happens with a lot less shear stress than back extensions or good mornings

🔹 Built-in cue for control — losing the ball mid-rep is instant feedback that you’ve lost tension or rushed the tempo, keeping the rep quality high

🔹 Adductor strength carryover — huge for athletes needing hip stability in cutting, sprinting, and change-of-direction sports

Small addition, big return. Try 3x12-15 reps focusing on a slow eccentric and a strong squeeze at the top.
