Probably my proudest make to date 💕 I got married in 2020 and set myself the challenge of sewing my own bridesmaid dresses. I already had an idea of the fabric that I wanted to use, this beautiful emerald green pebbles satin from @spotlightstores . After many discussions with my bridesmaids re styles, I decided to try my hand at draping (mostly cause I couldn’t find a pattern that was close to what I wanted) so not only were they for my wedding but they were also my very first draped pattern! I draped the pattern using quilters Muslim onto the dress form and made a mock up to check for any fitting issues and to finesse details such as split location and hem lengths etc. once I was happy I made the dress with the final fabric and ran into some trouble shooting such as the bias stretching and changing my mind on hem finishing, not to mention finishing them the night before the wedding! There Is definitely things I would do differently if I ever made these again , but in the end they were perfect and I got to create these for a special day with some amazing people 💕 #sewing #draping #fashion #bridemaidsresses.
