POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I'm beginning to lay groundwork on a project that may see a potential release. As many of you know, I've made the "Bands At Artists Space" event a major focal point of my research for my No Wave book. The book itself will be more about the bands, with a few key notes on gigs, but this event had a lot of mystery around it. It requires something else.

This project will be a stand alone thing, though is technically connected to the main book in spirit. During my years long work on this, I've managed to track down recordings, or sources of recordings, that feature sets recorded on location during the week long series. These bands include, Communists, Terminal, Gynecologists, Daily Life, DNA, Contortions, Mars, TJ&J

My idea is to do a zine/booklet on the entire event, then release an accompanying flexi disc, 33 1/3 rpm, featuring 4 songs by four bands that didn't manage to record anything and were un-intentionally (or intentionally depending on who's story you believe) left off No New York.

The proposed flexi would feature tracks by Communists, Terminal, Gynecologists, and Daily Life. Of course I still need to discuss licensing with the proper parties, but that's the initial idea. I have Steve @superiorviaduct to thank for the flexi idea. The original plan was to release it as an LP, but tracking down recordings by a couple of the bands proved just too difficult. Also the sound is a bit too lo-fi for an extravagant vinyl release.

Like I said, I still have to talk to the appropriate parties, but is this something people would be into? LMK!
