2026 STATE CHAMPIONS💍🏆 I’ve been meaning to make this post for a while, but it’s hard to find the right words for a season that meant so much.

It’s still hard to believe that my track career is over. Forty-eight hours before the state meet, I was running a 101.5° fever. After years of competing, that definitely wasn’t how I imagined preparing for the last track meet of my life.

But when championship day arrived, I laced up my spikes and gave everything I had left.

Looking back now, it’s crazy how fast it all went. What felt like endless practices, workouts, bus rides, and meets somehow turned into my final season before I knew it.

At a small school like DeSoto, everybody has a role. The same athletes are asked to compete in multiple events, score points wherever they can, and do whatever the team needs. That’s what made this group special. Nobody cared who got the credit. We simply showed up every day and gave everything we had for each other.

The state championship is something I’ll always be proud of, but when I think about this season, I think about more than a trophy. I think about the teammates who pushed me, the coaches who believed in me, the bus rides, the laughs at practice, and all the moments that made this team what it was.

For most of my life, track wasn’t something I did, it was part of who I was. There was always another race to run, another goal to chase, another season waiting ahead. I never really thought about the day that would change.

Track challenged me, humbled me, pushed me past limits I didn’t think I could reach, and gave me some of the best memories of my life. When I stepped onto that track for the final time, I wasn’t feeling my best physically, but I knew I had one last opportunity to compete with a team that meant so much to me.

When I crossed the finish line that day, I wasn’t thinking about being sick. I wasn’t thinking about how tired I was. I was thinking about the fact that, for the last time, I had given everything I had to a sport I love and a team I’ll never forget.🏃🏼‍♀️❤️💙
