I was honored to photograph the May Société Privée brunch at the University Club in Downtown San Diego.
This gorgeous design has to be on my feed!

@moderneleganceweddings and @florenciaflorals created such a beautiful space. The room was filled with the scent of fresh flowers! We gathered around one long table with a stunning floral arrangement running through the center. It was the perfect setting for great conversations and meaningful connections.

A peek behind the design process:

When @refinedandco__ approached me and asked if I wanted to design their first luncheon of the year, I said yes!

I had 2 weeks to design and source everything. I cut basswood, stained it, glued it to menus from @papermade.studio and added the jute trim. With a theme of The Year of the Horse, I wanted an elevated take on your typical western theme. Napkins that resembled bandanas, mixed with the refined stripe linen, added texture and fun pattern play. I utilized expected materials like leather and wood but in unconventional placements to keep the tabletop layered in refinement.

The wild grass texture of the centerpieces were meant to transport the guests to a Montana field on a spring day. The subtle addition of the horse running on the menu drove home the theme that the year of the horse signifies movement, bold risk, and running after we shed what no longer serves us from the year of the snake.

If a table design was a love letter this is mine to my fellow wedding vendors of @thesocieteprivee

As wedding vendors it’s rare that we sit at the tables we design. But sometimes it’s good to take a moment and get to enjoy the magic of a beautifully designed table and remember the “why” behind what we do. With every detail, every thoughtful design moment we are crafting an experience.

It’s in these layering of details that surprise and delight that turns an ordinary moment into something extraordinary. It makes each person at that table feel cared for and special, it takes the act of gathering at a table to eat from the mundane to the sublime.

It’s why the details are important and why for each of our couples we spend so much time and energy making sure that we are are giving them the absolute best, because the love you pour into something can be felt.
