#THANKYOU: Treating my friends Ann Walker Marchant & Denise Raines to an AFTER-DINNER at Duck Duck Goose thanking them for the invitation (Vickee Jordan Adams TOO) to the International Women’s Media Foundation’s 34th Annual “Courage in Journalism Awards” Hosted this year by Washington Post Owner, Jeff Bezos, the organization recognizes women journalists working under duress to bring truth to light. The 2023 honorees were María Teresa Montaño Delgado, a veteran Mexican journalist covering widespread corruption in political power; the women journalists of The Washington Post reporting from the frontlines of Ukraine in 2022; and, posthumously, Shireen Abu Akleh, a Palestinian American career broadcast journalist who reported from the Middle East for decades and was killed in 2022. No photos were Allowed! Sorry! But the home was fabulous! And there’s a fresco of Bezo’s Blue Origin fellow passenger Wally Funk on the wall!!! Producer Alturo Rhymes discovered that amazing individual 15 years ago and brought me along for the ride! Two more stories on her quest to reach space ensued (one FunFilled ride flying her single engine Plane with Jack Renaud in tow) Her pioneering spirit in NASA’s Space program during the 1960s and her untiring and tenacious determination to reach the limits of SPACE are an inspiration to us ALL!!
