Meet the newest resident of the Cambridge Sculpture Garden! 🐸✨

Say hello to **Toad Touch** by regional artist Annie Dunning. This gorgeous bronze sculpture is officially installed and ready for visitors of all ages to discover, touch, and admire!

But our amphibious story doesn't end here—*Toad Touch* is actually one of a pair! We’re currently fundraising to bring the second bronze toad home so these two can finally be reunited.

**How you can help:**
Head to the link in our bio to donate to our sculpture acquisition fund and help us complete the set. Every little bit gets us one step closer to bringing Toad #2 to the garden! 💚

Huge shoutout to @duenchcontractors for their careful installation and garden work. Thank you!

Drop a 🐸 in the comments if you’re planning to visit this weekend!

The Cambridge Sculpture Garden committee is seeking support to bring a new permanent sculpture to Cambridge by artist Annie Dunning. Toad Touch is a pair of super-sized bronze toads that will bring a playful, interactive, and mythical presence to the garden. As the hands of visitors touch the toads for good luck, they will contribute to the polished shine leaving a trace of human connection that reminds us that we share the world and prompts us to consider our relationship with nature.

On this 'Giving Tuesday' we are launching our
100 people, 100 dollars campaign to raise $10,000 to help fund the remaining $33,850 to welcome these toads to Cambridge.

To donate, go to our website: www.cambridgesculpturegarden.com

Any amount is appreciated and will receive a tax credit.

Sometime in the late ‘90s I replaced all the labels on the canned food in the house with different horizon shots, and it was a real crapshoot when you picked one for dinner. It was a chance operation; dinner edition. I just found one. Last man standing.

💀🌹Thank you, part 2/2🌹💀

… Our community showed up in every way. We are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for the openness, enthusiasm, imagination, kindness, and generosity of everyone who helped realize this weird and wondertul dream. Lynne Webb arrived early and put a pot of chilli on. Sonia dropped off an event tent in case we needed extra shelter from the rain. Ed Video lent us projectors. L-Roe guided and gave bundles! Teen Otis donned his giant eyeball head and shepherded kids through the driveway. A special thank you to our dear pal curator Anna Bowen at Musagetes who collaborated on this event by presenting The Powers artist talk Nov 1 as part of her Wet Sounds series.

To everyone who came by throughout October to build, sculpt, craft, set up and plug in...
To everyone who loaned us strange and spooky supplies, lights and decorations...
To everyone who ran around town to help pick things up and drop things off...
To every artist who contributed their glorious work...
To everyone who bought a ticket...
To all of the neighbours who brought folks big and small through the spaces...

thank you ❤️

🌹💀Thank you, part 1/2💀🌹

On October 31st, what now presented our second creative community event, a haunted house full of installations by local artists, open to the public, followed by a ticketed concert. In our humble garage we witnessed a stadium-calibre show from local legend SLEDD and an ecstatically unsettling multi-dimensional performance from art-super-troop The Powers.

Installations included: SLEDD’S SHED-from the twisted mind of Evan Gordon, where visitors were invited to “face their fears” in a haunted mirror of sorts in the garden shed; THE TRUTH-from the rogue secret agents Carolyn and Josh of Old Pal Vintage, where an alien conspiracy was finally brought to light in diorama form; sophia bartholemew’s oversized billowing creature spooked the airstream opposite Chris Fast’s video projection of a tumble down the great tooth hole; Annie Dunning’s SWAMP MONSTER lurched across the garage exterior; CRIMINAL SILHOUETTES appeared in windows at both the front and back of house, conceived by Steph Yates and actualized with immense support from Evan Gordon and additional actors Bry Webb, Annie Dunning, Matthew Forbes, and Max the cat; a freaky jumbo insect built by Heather Prouse and Daren hovered above the garage door; Curtis Walker’s dead-baby-self rested in a small coffin illuminated by a mysterious light; Sarafina Bortollon Vettor installed herself by the backyard fire to read H. P. Lovecraft horror stories to whomever dared to listen; a team of deceased mannequins (provided generously by Ray Mitchell) appeared all over the back garden in various states of undress and dress (clothing provided kindly by Old Pal Vintage); messengerbird’s Slim Volume broadcasted the evening’s spooky score; and perhaps the most popular feature of the haunted house, a “Smoke Machine Trampoline” at the back of the yard engrossed in fog and lit up in red…
