I have been blessed to spend the last week in Washington DC at the Washington Leadership Conference. The week was filled with some of the best monuments, memories, and experiences I will ever have.

Thanks to the conference, I was able to learn more about myself while growing in leadership, service, and confidence. Every session challenged me to think about how I can make a difference and return home with a greater purpose.

My community group, better known as the Travel Leaders, made the biggest impact on this trip. Meagan was the best facilitator I could have ever asked for. From day one, she created an environment where everyone felt welcomed, valued, and encouraged. What started as a group of strangers quickly became a group of friends who supported each other, laughed together, cried together and pushed each other to be better.

The friendships I made this week are something I will always cherish. To my roommates, my community group, and everyone I had the chance to meet along the way—thank you. The people I connected with made this experience even more special, and I know the memories and friendships from this week will stay.

I’m heading back home with a renewed passion to lead and serve my community. This experience reminded me that leadership isn’t about a title it is about making a positive impact on the people around you.

I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity, for the people I met, for the lessons I learned, and for the memories that were made. Washington Leadership Conference is an experience I will never forget, and I feel truly blessed to have been a part of it.
