This summer our AGNR Terps got up close with the wild side of life. ☀️

They encountered snakes while tracking black bears across Maryland, measured turtles while restoring wildlife habitat, saw polar bears in the Arctic and deer in Japan, cared for animals at veterinary clinics, spent time with horses, worked at nurseries and oyster hatcheries, and even made roadside cow sightings in Germany. Of course, you can’t forget our Animal Sciences students at Maryland State Fair!

Thanks for sharing with us, Terps. More Show Us Your Summer experiences to come. Stay tuned!

How lucky 🍀

Taken when Boyfriend and I walked around Mayo Beach Park last month! Met his parents before this little shoot and we saw probably a family of over 12 blue jays! We wanted to be silly and do Senior photos since we both never took any, last photo captures vibe. Was going for a vintage warm postcard look or a camcorder dead wife montage at the end of sad movies vibe.

He did the shots of me and I did the ones of him. Love our photo walks and learning the hobby with him, I need to post a collection of his photos <3

❄️Even in the cold weather, our PSLA student Annie Whelan majoring in Environmental Horticulture, is gaining valuable hands‑on experience this winter.

While working at Eastern Shore Nurseries in Easton, MD, Annie transplanted over 500 ornamental cuttings into 1 gallon pots, building her skills in nursery production. She also began winter sowing of more than 15 varieties of cut flowers for her summer garden hoping they’ll thrive despite the recent snowstorm.
In addition, Annie completed an interview with Williwaw Farm in Preston, MD, where she will begin working this spring to further her experience in organic farming and crop production.

We’re proud of Annie’s dedication and excited to see all she accomplishes!
