COMMITTED ✍️

Annie Whitmore is Bentley-bound — and she’s walking a road her family and her state have worn smooth.

Waltham has been a landing spot for Maine guards for two decades. Victoria Lux out of Thornton Academy. Kolleen Bouchard, Houlton’s 2,046-point Miss Maine Basketball. Amanda Kabantu from Portland. Brooke Obar from Greely. Brennan Doran of Belgrade is there right now. And Annie’s older sister Maggie, who left with 1,465 points, WBCA Division II All-America honors, four straight NE10 titles and an Elite Eight run. Maggie wore 25 for the Falcons. Annie wears 25 for the Red Riots. 2️⃣5️⃣

Junior year: 12.3 points, 4.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals. Led the SMAA in assists. SMAA Defensive Player of the Year on a defense that gave up a league-low 31.3 a night. First-team All-Maine. A 2025 state champion — South Portland’s first in 39 years. 🏆

She scores at three levels, she sets the table, and she takes the other team’s best player. Big Time Hoops All-Star. One of the premier players in the state. 💫

Congrats, Annie! 🎉
