It feels a bit crass to say I “needed a holiday” when I’m lucky enough to call Bali home and I’ve spent the past year bouncing around the world. But the truth is…I did.

The last few months in Bali have been unreal. My life has changed entirely. I’ve changed entirely. And even though a younger version of me wouldn’t have given myself the grace to admit it, no matter how fortunate you are, it’s still okay to need a break. There’s no guilt in that.

There was a time when I wouldn’t allow myself a holiday, a weekend off, even a breather. Slowing down felt like losing momentum. I’m learning it isn’t. Sometimes rest is part of the courage to keep going.

Every place I’ve visited this year has brought new people into my life - people I’d never have crossed paths with otherwise. This trip was no different and for that I’m truly grateful.

As this year comes to an end, I’m proud of who I’m allowing myself to become. And weirdly, I’m grateful to the past version of me too… because without him, I wouldn’t have ended up here in the first place. This trip, and the people I was lucky enough to share it with, reminded me of that.

Anyway… back to Bali.

Our favourite part of the day is by far the Swim Stop.
