"Les armes gagnent du terrain dans l'espace public. Aujourd'hui en France, les forces de l'ordre opposent grenades et tirs de LBD à des lycéen nes mobilisées. Les guerres se perpétuent, parfois se déplacent. Au-delà des champs de bataille, les armes colonisent nos gestes et nos manières d'être ensemble. Censées garantir notre sécurité, elles entretiennent un état d'alerte permanent. Un siège tantôt larvé, tantôt à découvert, dans des affrontements à armes inégales"

On 11 September, we took FONTE into the streets of Paris, carrying ice sculptures as they slowly dissolved in our hands.

Moving between sculpture, performance and video, FONTE questions militarism, policing and the place of weapons in our collective imagination. As the ice melts, an instrument of authority becomes fragile, dependent on the bodies carrying it.

Can we imagine a disarmed society? Does dissolving the weapon undo the structures of violence around it?

The wait is over!
COSMO launches its first art weekend in Amsterdam in collaboration with @wanakamofficial where 26 artists will bring their projects and performances! From the 30th of January to the 1st of February visual arts, poetry, and music will share the same space for some unique and unforgettable moments!
