🎉 One Year Bookstaversary 🎉

I can’t believe it’s been a full year of posting content and sharing my love of books with you all.

I first attempted this back in 2020, but the weight of the world was too much, and my imposter syndrome was LOUD. I didn’t see room for me in this space, so I gave up.

Luckily, I rejected that line of thinking and started back up again. I floundered for some time, trying to figure out how I wanted to present myself, along with getting caught up in the comparison trap.

What I’ve learned is that my account is uniquely mine. It’s okay if it doesn’t look like someone else’s or that I might not read the most popular books. It’s okay that I show my personality, but remain true to myself.

I share books, both old and new, but most specifically, I work to build connections with those who are willing.

I’ve met so many amazing people along the way, but I’ve also seen the ugliness of this community at times.

My hope is that I can keep showing up as my authentic self, while lifting up the books I love, accounts I love and the people attached to them, while centering incredible stories from diverse voices across the bookish world.

So thanks to you all for sticking around, and a special thanks to those tagged for making me feel seen, heard, and supported. 🫶🏾

📚 Library Haul 📚

I’m lucky enough to live very close to a library, and boy do I love it. Not only is it helping me save money, but there is also just something about perusing the books along each aisle that speaks to my soul.

For this trip, I got a few books from my 12 books by 12 friends list and some others I’ve had my eyes on.

The Great Believers
Recommended by @momsreadingera and book three on my list!

White Smoke
After reading Blood in the Water and The Scammers, I realized I haven’t read much of Tiffany Jackson’s catalog.

Cursed Daughters
Recommended by @annotatewithsara and book four on my list. I have the audio but want to do an immersive read.

Drown Me With Dreams
I read Sing Me To Sleep a few years ago and have been wanting to finish this duology. If you’re looking for Black YA fantasy, this is a good choice. A siren assassin who lies about her identity and is forced to become a bodyguard for a prince she hates.

Amity
I first saw this book last year at the Bookmarks festival and absolutely hate that I didn’t buy it, so I’m prioritizing it now. He’s a new to me author and his work looks intriguing!

2025 Bookish Wrapped 💘

I read 201 books this year! If that’s not indicative of the state of the world/my mental health idk what is!

I honestly wasn’t going to make a wrap up post because the plans I had to be creative about it fell through (I am not home during daylight hours to film and have had some pretty busy weekends lately 🥲) so I adopted the “do it anyway” mindset and present to you a make-do compilation of my favorites this year.

Hope everyone is taking care and wishing everyone a safe NYE. I’ll be staying in and scrapbooking because I am not messing around with this new flu variant 🫩
