Super grateful to be a finalist in the World Indigenous Broadcasters Network (WIBN) alongside five incredible journos from around the world! I’m very lucky to have been able to come to Sápmi, Norway, as a finalist in the awards and experience the culture and people here!

Congratulations to our overall winner Umas Suqluman and his team from TITV for their series of reports covering a landslide dam failure in Hualien, Taiwan, last September that killed 19 people and left five missing. The coverage explored post-disaster reconstruction and needs from the perspective of the Indigenous peoples. Such important mahi!

My @teaowithmoana story that was chosen examined Australia-based Trans-Tasman Resources’ (TTR) proposal to mine 50 million tonnes of seabed a year in the South Taranaki Bight.

The story weighed the proposed economic benefits against concerns from iwi, scientists and environmentalists, uplifted the voices of Taranaki iwi Ngāti Ruanui.

Tēnei ka mihi ki ngā pūkōrero katoa i tēnei pūrongo - ngā iwi o Taranaki, otirā, ki a Ngāti Ruanui, ki tōku tīma nō Te Ao with Moana, rātou ko taku whānau nō Whakaata Māori. He mahi tahi tēnei.

Thank you so much to the @maoriplus and @wibnmedia team for having me on this epic haerenga 🥰🥰

This is how our Sámi week looked ❤️💙
Concerts in Oulu (European Capital of Culture 2026) and Sámi National Day in Tromsø at Nordlysfestivalen.

Visited the Eanangiella exhibition — special to see my duodji and our sound installation there, surrounded by so much diverse and incredible art.🪶

Also saw the great Ovllá Opera in Oulu and a fun Sámi fashion show in Tromsø.
Grateful to witness Sámi art blossom.

A week has passed since the opening of Eanangiella -Voices of the land exhibition at Oulu Art Museum. Over two years of working came to an end from our side as curators of this large exhibition with over 100 artworks and featuring 76 artist. We have been in contact with a great number of people, artists and institutions to make this work and it has been a great effort by everyone involved to show the love we have for our culture, our art and our lands.

First of all a thank you to Sigga-Márja Magga and Ánne Siri Länsman from Giellagas institute for dreaming up this exhibition a few years ago who initiated this project. Thank you to Outi Pieski who suggested me and Fredrik as curators to this exhibition to Sigga-Márja and others. Someone whom without all would have been impossible, is Ailu Valle, who joined me and Fredrik as curators bringing with him the possibility to make this a multidimensional exhibition with his experience in music and sound development but also with great knowledge about the Finnish side of Sápmi which was very helpful. Thank you to Aino Valovirta, coordinator for Sami issues at Oulu cultural art foundation 2026, who made contact with us and whom has been following and supporting us until this moment. Thank you also to Anni Niemilä and Inka Hyvönen from Oulu 2026 who have been coordinating and making this practically possible and taking care of all hard administrative issues and being a great asset for communication between all parties. Thank you to Oulu Art Museum who made this all possible with their hospitality with exhibition halls, expertise and conversations about art. Especially thank you to Selina Väliheikki, head curator of the museum, with all your kind words, understanding and expertise. Thank you and to the team of museum staff who did the practical building of Eanangiella.
