Anodiwa is using social media to challenge misconceptions about ADHD and autism in her home country of Zimbabwe.

Studying BSc (Hons) Psychology with Developmental Disorders, @anodiwaaa launched her Instagram and TikTok accounts after noticing a lack of accessible information about developmental disorders.

Her message is simple: developmental differences are nothing to be ashamed of.

💬 “Developmental differences are just a part of human diversity. That’s what it is. That’s how you were born. It’s nothing big. It’s nothing bad.”

Her content has already resonated with people who were labelled “different” or “stupid” as children.

One of her cousins told her that her videos had changed the way he viewed ADHD and autism.

Anodiwa hopes to return to Zimbabwe and eventually establish a specialist school providing individualised support for children with developmental disorders.

And with her own recent ADHD diagnosis, she’s bringing both personal experience and her academic knowledge to the conversations she’s starting.
