28/09/2023 @oilshenzhen PAUSE&BREAK presents Mad Miran @madmiran an extraordinary rising star of the Dutch underground scene. Her mastery behind the decks shows as she smoothly moves between electro, bass music, IDM, dubstep, electronics and breakcore throughout her sets. An infectious energy behind the decks that truly manifests it on any dance floor she takes control over. Her infinite love for obscurities have left many prowling for tracks played, as her sets tend to be a adventure through leftfield novelties and obscurities deeply rooted in 90s rave.

Hailing from Shenzhen, @anormalturtle300 ’s sets traverse deranged broken rhythms to deep, synchronized bass grooves surrounded by alienated synths and riven syncopation. Whether dark or bright, moderate or excessive, she crafts multi-variant and exquisite sets for the dancefloor. Peko has shared stages with renowned artists like Rhyw, Actress, Palmistry and Manuka Honey. She runs her own bass music label PAUSE&BREAK and hosts a residency show on Hong Kong Community Radio by the same name.

Join us as we venture into the unknown reaches of peko’s world-bending sound at Unmute Nightclub this Saturday!

Poster design work for PAUSE & BREAKS for Peko (@anormalturtle300) OIL Club show, ShenZhen, China.

Using my favourite and fixated RGB bloo. Alongside, of course, some good ol fashioned Gothic Script Old English type, paired with some silly graphic ornaments and illegible detailing.

Sooo excited to welcoming Jen Hartley a.k.a Yushh @_jrhartley from Bristol as the first international guest of PAUSE&BREAK, mark the date!

2023/08/12 @oilshenzhen
PAUSE&BREAK Pres. Yushh (Pressure Dome / Wisdom Teeth, UK)
-
Since her debut release in 2019, Yushh’s music has found a home on vital UK dance music labels such as @rhythmsectionhq , @all_centre and @wellstreet_records . Her debut EP Look Mom No Hands, released on Facta & K-Lone’s Label Wisdom Teeth @wisdomteethuk in February 2023, was tipped by publications such as Resident Advisor and Juno, and inspired comparisons to Peverelist (Crack Magazine), Aphex Twin, and Ikonika (The Quietus).

She holds a residency on infamous Bristol broadcasting station, Noods Radio, through which she showcases her own imprint, Pressure Dome, and has hosted the likes of Hassan Abou Alam, Kiernan Lavaeux and Less-O. As well her intricate curation of homegrown, emerging talent, Pressure Dome enriches the local scene through unmissable partiesplayed by the likes of Voam mainstays Pariah and Rhyw, New York’s DJ Python and Nervous Horizon’s Ehua. Yushh’s own DJ career has taken her all round Europe, and has seen her share bills with Livity Sound legends Pinch and Hodge, and other trusted names such as Overmono and Simo Cell. A recent Crack Magazine mix featured an array of Pressure Dome originals as well as her own remixes and myriad inspirations; and was named ‘Mix Of The Day’ by Resident Advisor, who described it as “ultra-deep, plentydubby, percussively unpredictableand surprisingly intricate”.
