Come out to the endless building site of Nordhavn and watch our performance-work-in-progress ‘The Dig’.

We’ve been researching the influx Nordic city in construction sites, in old harbour arenas undergoing transformation and in new build neighbourhoods. Here are some small snippets of the research.

We are showing a work in progress of a new site-adaptive performance in Nordhavn for free - come by!

Looking back on our unbelievably lovely time @dartingtontrust performing @greentablecafe last December as we prep for our upcoming shows @totnesfringefestival ! 💛

The lovely @isak_williams_photography caught & created this memento from our time there 📽️

Half a year since & we still can’t thank our audiences, @rpjnicholson, entire @greentablecafe crew & everyone that supported our visit for everything!

If you saw us perform then & would like some more (or missed us & still regret it) we’ve got two performances on the 11th and 12th so come on down 💖

✾ Meet the Residents of Villa Eläintarha ✾

Madee Cole (UK/DK), Aleksandra Lewon (PL/DK), Anouk Jouanne (IS/SE) & Roosa Törmä (FI) stayed at the Villa whilst working on a site-responsive project in Helsinki called The Dig.

Madee (choreographer & dancer) & Aleksandra (scenographer & costume designer), are an artistic duo from Copenhagen. After having created site-specific works together since 2021, they are embarking on their first large scale, international site-responsive work. Alongside dancers Anouk Jouanne & Roosa Törmä, they have a 6 week research period funded by @nordiskkulturkontakt.

"The Dig is a site-responsive performance research of Nordic cities: Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen. It frames places in rapid transformation like building sites. Through movement & scenography we materialise gentrification’s ecological processes to evoke a sensuous understanding of the in-flux Nordic city & its hunger for growth. During our two week residency in Helsinki we have been working in Jatkasaari and Kalasatama. Through our research we have asked the questions: how do the building processes of urbanisation affect a site’s ecology? What has disappeared? Who & what is allowed there? What proliferates? What don’t we see when we look at the site? How can we capture it’s essence? How can we inject ‘place-ness’ into these overlooked sites through artistic framing?”
