New on Gertrude: Soft Evidence, a series of tapestry works by Anouska Samms.

Handwoven in silk on a domestic floor loom, the works have physical film negatives embedded within the warp and weft, revealed only when held to a window or light source. Their small scale pulls the viewer in close. Samms continues her exploration of vision as something malleable and embodied, shaped by the relationship between the work and whoever is standing in front of it.
