🏆 📍 138 - Cropston Road ⚽ Anstey Nomads 📆 20th October, 2026 Harry and I almost went to Anstey Nomads a week ago for our Climb The Pyramid challenge, and to scout them ahead of their FA Cup tie at Macclesfield. Life got in the way and we didn't go, but a 1-1 draw at Moss Rose meant a replay in Leicestershire 3 days later. We bought away tickets from the Anstey website and locked it in. This was my first Macc game in 6 months and I couldn't wait. We arrived almost an hour before kick off to an already bustling ground, with long queues at the bars and food hut as the atmosphere built. Anstey seemed unprepared for the massive turnout, and quickly ran out of burgers 😅 The staff were thrilled when it was confirmed that a delivery of pizzas was on the way, and I wish I’d caught the name of the lady who celebrated that news with some joyous Joey Tribbiani-style dance moves! 🍕 The game began, and like the M6 southbound the first half was one-way traffic. Anstey created all the chances and won every duel. 50/50 tackles looked more like 80/20. Macc seemed rattled, but the hosts were 't clinical enough and somehow it was goalless at the break. However, whatever John Rooney said at half time worked. Macc came out with some real desire and the difference in quality started to show. When a corner was cleared to the edge of the box George Wilson fired in, doing well to keep it low, and Macc were one up. Danny Elliott soon made it two, rifling an unstoppable near-post finish from a tight angle into the roof of the net, and Josh Kay - who'd earlier hit the post - wrapped it up with a shot that this time went in off the upright. Game over. Macc will face Mansfield away in the First Round proper, a draw which supporter Andy calls "a bit bleh." But after last year's brilliant Cup run - which saw televised games against Premier League opposition Crystal Palace and Brentford - fans are right to feel that bubble of excitement again. It's back to league action this weekend with a top of the table clash vs. Hereford. Let's hope the second-half version of Macc turns up for that one! @ansteynomads_fc 0️⃣ @thesilkmen 3️⃣ #groundhop #ansteynomads #silkmen #groundhopper #facup

Every rehab session is for moments like this. Today we travelled to the league above to face the team sitting top of the table, in the FA Cup. Not the win we wanted, but a draw away at a side like that takes a squad that’s fit, sharp and ready to compete. That’s the part people don’t see. The treatment room, the rehab sessions, the work that gets players back from injury and up to match fitness. Getting back on the pitch is only half of it. You need to stay there and be ready when the big games come round. Proud to be part of the medical team at Anstey Nomads FC. 🔴⚪️ Carrying an injury and want to get back to competing? An entertaining @southernfootballleague Premier Central ⚽️ match between @needham_marketfc and @ansteynomads_fc today. Could have gone either way and 1-1 was a fair result. #NeedhamMarketFC #UpTheNomads
