Day 2 of our Student Leadership Institute gave our students the opportunity to learn from leaders who have turned their experiences into success. ✨

Students heard from @news_bae_shay, who shared valuable insight on communicating with confidence, speaking to the media, and using their voice with purpose. They also heard from Edna Karr alumna @ant.anay (‘24), who reflected on how serving as a student leader prepared her to lead in college and beyond. And of course, our CEO, @jamarmckneely stopped by to encourage this new generation of leaders! 🤝

After a day of learning, our student leaders headed to Game On Social to build connections, enjoy a little friendly competition, and have some fun together. (And yes... we gave them the cameras again. 😂)

Leadership is about more than what happens in a classroom. It’s about finding your voice, learning from those who’ve walked the path before you, and building relationships that last long after the week is over. 🔥

Networking = turning simple handshakes into lasting relationships

I’m incredibly grateful to have represented Claflin University’s School of Business at Deloitte University for the Annual HBCU Student Summit Roundtable. Being surrounded by other HBCU leaders with the same majors, but different visions, career goals, and aspirations, played a major role in enhancing my own vision and expanding my perspective on what’s possible.

Thank you to Deloitte University for hosting such an impactful experience and creating a space for students to learn, connect, and grow. To my fellow HBCU leaders, thank you for making every conversation insightful, inspiring, and engaging. Grateful for the relationships built and the lessons learned, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s session.

Most importantly, I thank God for the new ground He’s allowing me to walk in during this season of leadership. Every opportunity and every connection has been a reminder that vision grows when it’s shared with others.
