We are thrilled to share that our PhD candidate Anandit Sachdev is one of the Wenner-Gren fieldwork grantees. We wish him the very best as he takes his research forward and look forward to seeing his exciting journey.

Anandit’s project is titled : Aesthetics and Technologies of Amplified Sound and Electronic Music in the Indian Context. The project examines how amplified sonic technologies shape collective experience and social life in contemporary India. From nightclubs and music studios to large religious processions, sound systems play a central role in creating congregations. In these settings, sound is not only heard but physically felt, especially through low-frequency bass that moves bodies and transforms space. This research focuses on the technologies that make them possible. The research offers a new perspective on how collective life is formed - not only through ideas or language, but through embodied, sensory engagement.

@thfradio and @klubostkreuz present: KOX Radio #80 w/ NDCR x Antariksh Records: BRIDGING THE GAP

📻 Tune in tomorrow, Wed 14th Oct, at 7pm CET on thfradio.de.

The show will also be rebroadcast on Sat 24th Oct on @alex_berlin_de , FM channel 91,0 MHz, from 11pm to 2am.

Recorded during BRIDGING THE GAP, an event organised by @newdelhicommunityradio in collaboration with @antarikshrecords & @thfradio at @strangrindelhi , bringing different corners of the underground together: from Berlin to Delhi, from radio to records, from conversation to dancefloor.

In the first hour, we discuss the role of independent radio within the underground, the challenges of building and sustaining community-driven platforms in India compared to Berlin, and why radio remains an important space for experimentation, exchange and connection within the scene. We also talk about future plans and the possibilities of building stronger connections between different underground communities.

The conversation is followed by a DJ set by @tinavonkugler

Both the interview and DJ set were recorded on video and will be released soon via New Delhi Community Radio. In the meantime, enjoy the audio version 🖤
