“You made it!!” That was the theme last night. To a @barstoolsports fan finster account!!!! 🔥😂😜🔥 Coaching movement, programming, ABC, progression, speed/strength/power/conditioning…that’s easy. That isn’t the 🍲 & 🥜. The TRUST you garner from your athletes is really what matters. Being there for them in different arenas. Listening, YET mentoring…letting them SEE you repeat what you actually preach. Handshake, fist bump…and yeah I hug my athletes. BUT I’ve earned it as well as ask them if a hug is ok. That’s not Fuc&ing given!!!!!! Of course my own background assists, but to be honest, NONE of them were alive when that first career happened. THEY ALL SEE now!!!!! Living IN the moments daily. Heck a bunch of #ftsfamily already know I’m planning the third career @tomhanks and I are gonna be buddies 😂🙈. I’m blessed and very lucky for what my path has been. Not easy. Not given. Only earned. Only worked for. Hopefully I parlay that into what my athletes see. Good Stuff!!!! #ftstrained #mindset #yourpath #morethanagym

Training is MORE than physical “stuff.” It’s the first thing that parents put by the wayside. “Oh I’ll teach you” Dad or Mom says. “Why would we go somewhere when you can go to a gym for $$?” Consistently mentioned. “School lifts are fine” 😒 I’m not taking away from those that supervise and facilitate school weight rooms. I’m not saying mom or dad don’t know. I’m not gonna say BUT. Here’s what I’ll mention…can you adjust 1 athlete’s whole program in seconds while still connecting what is necessary for them to elicit recovery, strength maintenance or gain, increase capacity, still rendering the result by the end of the session to fall in line with where you are in the season? 🤔? Ok simple…now what about 62 of them? How about doing the same for baseball, softball, football, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, basketball, and wrestling…as they train together…let’s not forget there are a couple of genders that may need slight adjustments…maybe age differences…all the while making sure they do it in a safe manner that continues their progressions. It’s NOT the same…nor is it similar…let alone the same value. Little self-support today to the private sector. 😉. Good Stuff!!!!! #fts #ftstrained #ftsfamily #mindset #morethanagym BTW… @mkhsfootball rocking some custom FTS gear!!!!!

I HATE puzzles!!!! I do…outside of them making me dizzy, my patience level is nil for it. The LIFE puzzle different. I love the life one. Some days…even more frustrated with it. Other days I can’t find the pieces. Far off and future days it may get so dark i can’t even figure out what piece is next…..but you keep rocking till ya find the fit. @bgallagher137 figured a way to get me back out this year…and grateful I am. He’s also included much more in that package. How about having the whole team sing Happy Birthday to Lo last night?! 🥹 But I didn’t come back for that only. But the friendship sure as hell is a huge bonus. I came back because lives change because of this game. The kids who play it and really play it KNOW this. Maybe not today or last night, but they’ll know it for life. The absolute emotion that comes from it. So in return for what I’ve been given from it, I help them find it as well. From handshakes/fist bumps all week…to “Game Day Hugs.” To pick ups to teaching moments. To throw downs if necessary. To an overly protective coach of the colors I’ll wear. The game is special. To have Lo around it. To see @living_life_redd throw a 😘 before kickoff. To getting fans going…btw let’s keep it clean peeps. DO THE RIGHT THING PLEASE moving forward 🙏🏼. All of it on a #fridaynightlights I didn’t forget, but needed a reminder of what rivalry game is like from warm-ups to bed time. Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftsfamily #itsnotjustagame #mindset

Back At It…🙏🏼. Little thank you to the families, players and #ftsfamily Without getting into too much detail…paperwork and some stuff to chuckle about now is what took so long. It’s ALL a learning process…even at almost 50. Shout out 💚💛 football guys who were shocked I was 49!!!! 👍🏼. The hoops and loops to get it done took much longer than expected or should have…BUT they are there for a reason. There to make sure your kids are protected and safe. Now truth be told you never feel 100% safe as a parent. I think everyone feels this way if ya got kiddos. You certainly can feel comfortable, but still must be diligent. You also have to trust. For some that’s super hard. BUT you have to. Your kids and your own will never build a confident self without letting them also build trust. So give them the ability to trust. Don’t 🚁 every decision. Don’t 🙈 every negative thing. Let he or she see real life. All the while making sure it’s appropriate too. Letting G&H watch “It” at around 8/9 years old probably wasn’t a good Dad moment. 😂. But in reality let them build trust, communication, confidence and fail a bit…so they learn it all. Oh and guess what…you’ll always deal with people in power-trippy space that like to use it too. Job, business, sales, schools…no where is safe of people whom like to sway power. Sooooooo let the kiddos understand how to succeed despite that. “Football Coaches DO things and GET stuff done” @bgallagher137 Time to go get some field time. Good Stuff!!!!! #fts #ftsfamily #mindset #growth

It doesn’t get much better than this!!!!! @tycerutti & @schweizer9_baseball making the night smile!!!!! I turned around and saw those two repping #ftsfamily and it makes it even more worthwhile. Little snag point for some paperwork and clearance which has kept me from the field. Nothing to be alarmed with. To be frank with it, it’s forms, but it’s there for our kids’ safety. Soooo I’ve buttoned my lips because it’s NOT about me. It’s ALL about the kids and student-athletes. It’s about making a DIFFERENCE daily. It’s seeing these smiles from a distance and the outfits. It’s responding to some tedious stuff and walking some families off the plank. 😉 It’s about the TEAMS… @mkhsfootball @denvillegirlsflag @denvilleblueangels @morrisknollsbaseball @mohillsbaseball all represented in that picture. The communication and conversations that help each young person find themselves and his or her future. Oh don’t get me wrong I ALWAYS have something to say…but maybe I’ve learned it’s not always smart to say 😉. It’s about growth!!!!! So as they ALL keep growing, so do I. Watched a lotta FTSfamily compete last night…some close ones on @mountolivefootball football to me…so yeah even though I wear the green/gold those kids know how much ❤️ I got for them. Maybe it was better I didn’t have to stand on one sideline last night. Good Stuff!!!! #fts #mindset #morethanagym #backsoonfellas

Philosophical Friday: Leading NOT Coaching…leading is doing your best to have clear eyes. Your goal is to get the end result while keeping whom you’re leading along the correct path. Now leading means you make decisions that may not be best for YOU…but it may be best for those you lead. YOU step in front of things that may not be correct…but you do it because it’s what needs to be done. It may NOT be right or even perfect…but you’re willing to do it for those YOU lead. Windshield wipers are necessary…clean the windshield, keep vision clear, make sure the road is visible in storms…but look, YOU can still see. YOU may struggle and risk, BUT you can still see what’s right and left. You can peak your head to a side, change eye level…but to Lead your vehicle to safety, you want to make sure it’s clear. Sometimes sh!t isn’t clear, sometimes you have to take a risk. Sometimes you don’t. But sure as heck YOU Better Lead for what’s best for whom YOU LEAD, not just yourself. Good Stuff!!!! #fts #ftsfamily #iykyk #leaders #makeadifference

Players need to PLAY!! There are a few other things that get encapsulated into it as well, but bottom line Players need to PLAY!! They need to SHOW UP! Just being there doesn’t do it. Talking the game through doesn’t just do it. SHOW UP!!!! This goes for all sports…but in the case of 🏈 it’s ever so more prominent. ⚾️🥎🏀⚽️🥍🏒🏑 you play multiple times a week. 🏈=1 Soooooooo PLAY like it’s your only and your last. I’m guilty myself when I played to think about the next, or think about the next level…but then quickly get grounded when it’s in front of you. So PLAY and SHOW UP!!!!! Don’t have regrets or shoulda’s. Go get it!!! Good Stuff!!!! #fts #ftsfamily #mindset #ftstrained #lifelessons
