Huge news has arrived! Disposable Humanity is an official selection of the 28th annual Riverrun International Film Festival. Our film will screen twice at the festival. First, our North Carolina premiere will be in the evening slot at 7:30pm on Sunday, April 19th and then we will have an encore screening at 2 pm on Monday, April 20th. Our Q&A will be moderated by Peter Gilbert, the cinematographer and producer behind Hoops Dreams, which is one of our director’s favorite documentaries. We are so honored to share the stage with all of the incredible titles at this festival. Riverrun is the word that begins and ends Finnegan’s Wake by James Joyce representing the unending nature of history, language, and life. It was a text read out loud by the director’s late relative Candle for years on the island of Kauai. Much like Joyce and Candle, our film’s goal it to seek to reclaim our understanding of World War II for disabled people who were the first victims to be killed and the last to be remembered with the T4 memorial opening to the public in Berlin in 2014. Our 2026 tour is titled “Remembrance is Resistance” and calls for the current and immediate reckoning of the role that eugenics played in the catalyzation of the Holocaust. Join us for a powerful evening and/or matinee screening in North Carolina! #riverrun #riverruninternationalfilmfestival #riverrun2026 @riverrunfilm
