“Not All Things Are Set in Stone” - Dance Underground 2026

This piece is my first piece of official choreographic work, developed in my creative practice course in fall 2025. It discovers the story of two statues that coexist in a garden for an extensive amount of time, longing for connection. The piece is a display of their thoughts of what it would be like to live a life attached physically and emotionally with the other. This dream eventually fades and they are forced to back into their reality of stillness away from each other.

Thank you so much to my two dancers for following me through this process that began in the fall. This choreography was such a beautiful and playful adventure and I thank you so sincerely for keeping this story full of passion.

This piece was choreographed as my undergrad junior project, and I wanted to bring light to something environmentally urgent, being our impact against keystone species. This piece represents the life and population decline of honeybees due to human interference, and industrialization based around pesticide usage beginning during the progression of the organic movement in the early 1900s.

Huge appreciation and love for my beautiful dancers for helping me bring this vision to light. Y’all pushed through long rehearsals on Friday evenings (through my choreographic confusion on some nights lol) and I thank you all so much for believing in the process with me. 💛🖤🍯🐝
