POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today sees the release of my new single, 'There's a bit of every artist in their work'.

The first song from my forthcoming new EP called 'Strange Water' coming 20th November!

The EP explores the ideas of memory and reflection in different ways. This first single is about the warmer side of nostalgia - fuzzy memories of past times and friends.

Listen now via the link in my bio!
Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks a lot to my colaborators:
@fromaheight @crrrrraig @antoine_two @tonimalyn at @emubands
and special thanks to @lesleyamcphipps for all her support and encouragement.

@the_oscillation is back with new album 'Interference' Demian Castellanos returns to Fuzz Club for his eleventh studio album under the Oscillation moniker and shares the lead single 'Bring It On'. Due out October 30th, you can pre-order the limited vinyl/CD and stream the first track via the link in the bio

For two decades, The Oscillation has occupied its own space within the psychedelic underground, continually reshaping a sound built as much from texture, repetition and atmosphere as it is from conventional songcraft. 'Interference' pushes that approach further than ever, creating what Castellanos describes as "a painting of sound rather than music... I wanted it to be accessible but also quite extreme, a sort of beautiful noise. I did my best to push out the parameters whilst trying not to allow it to disintegrate into something with no meaning or focus."

The result is a record that feels simultaneously immediate and disorientating: dense layers of drones, feedback and motorik rhythms give way to unexpected moments of warmth, colour and even uplifting euphoria. On the lead single out today, he adds: "I see 'Bring It On' as kind of existential, but I wanted to make sure it was a hopeful, uplifting track. It's partly about accepting that feeling of drifting with no direction toward an uncertain destination, and some kind of reckoning."

Recorded and mixed by Castellanos at his home studio in the Czech Republic, much of 'Interference' emerged through instinct rather than intention. Fragments originally conceived as intros, outros or abandoned ideas - some dating back nearly twenty years - gradually eclipsed the songs they belonged to, with tracks revealing themselves organically through a process Castellanos likens to "playing Chinese whispers with musical instruments." 'Interference' also benefits from a key collaboration with Lorena Quintanilla of @obsoletelorelle who features on two tracks and provides a transformative presence.

Pre-order 'Interference' now on limited edition 180g purple smoke vinyl (hand-numbered /200), 180g clear red vinyl and CD. The CD edition

15 years in the dark!

To mark the label’s anniversary, all albums from our digital catalogue are half price until the new year.

We have also introduced a special scarf in our shop, which can be purchased individually or as part of a bundle that includes two records of your choice.… A few out-of-stock albums are back for the occasion too. First come first served!

A massive thanks to all the artists we’ve had the honour and pleasure to work with along the way, as well as all of you music enthusiasts and curious sonic explorers brave enough to defy the algorithm!
