Free Game! šŸ€ This is what 1v1 basketball should look like more often than not! We love taking it back to the essence of playing ones. No gimmicks, no unnecessary dribbles, just straight hoops! Check it up with your opponent, 3-dribble limit, and letā€™s see who can REALLY hoop! Canā€™t Cheat Da Grindā€¦

Free Game! We preach unselfishness, and we hold our guys accountable when selfish habits creep in. They understand the difference between a good shot and a great one and weā€™re hunting great ones: layups, shots in the paint, and open 3s. Teach kids how to read the game, make decisions, and create for each other. Teach them how to PLAY basketball. Canā€™t Cheat Da Grindā€¦

FREE GAME! šŸ€šŸ”„ Every team has strengths, and every team has weaknesses. The teams that consistently have the most success are the ones that understand their identity and impose it on their opponents. Your style. Your tempo. Your habits. Itā€™s not about just playing your game when things are going well. Itā€™s about being disciplined enough to establish your identity every time you step on the court, regardless of who youā€™re playing. Make the game adjust to YOU, not the other way around. Free Game! Isolating one hand helps develop your weak hand, but incorporating it into finishes also teaches you to slow down and stay under control. Too often, players attack the basket going 1,000 miles per hour. Theyā€™re moving so fast they never give themselves a chance to read the help defense. One-hand finishing forces players to be intentional with their footwork, pace and touch. Slow down, see the help and finish under control. Canā€™t Cheat Da Grindā€¦

Free Game! Thereā€™s only one way weā€™re going to keep it with our playersā€¦ REAL. Weā€™ve had a lot of success with our 8th grade squad, but winning can mask flaws. Thatā€™s why I love seeing our guys navigate adversity. Thatā€™s where true character is revealed. Will it always be perfect? Fuck no! It never will be. But learning how to respond, hold yourself accountable, and keep showing up when things donā€™t go your wayā€¦ thatā€™s growth. Those lessons go way beyond basketball. Canā€™t Cheat Da Grindā€¦

A lot of shit couldā€™ve made us quit but we kept working. We kept betting on ourselves when nobody else would. And after everything weā€™re still here stronger, hungrier, and better than ever. This ainā€™t the finish line. This is just proof that the work is starting to show ā€¦

Free Game! Break it down. Drill it. Then apply it in a game situation. The goal is for players to understand when, why, and how to use what we teach. Thatā€™s where the drills turn into development. Canā€™t Cheat Da Grindā€¦

Free Game! šŸ€ Thereā€™s so much more to basketball than teaching 1-on-1 moves. Teach kids how to PLAY THE GAME, not just how to look good playing against air. On defense, keep your hands straight up and contest without fouling. A lot of players rush a layup anticipating contactā€¦ donā€™t bail them out by giving them the foul theyā€™re looking for! On a 2-on-1, attack the defender. Make them commit to stopping youā€¦ then read it. If they donā€™t stop you, finish. If they commit, find your teammate. Understanding the game matters. Teach the reads, the decisions, and the details! Canā€™t Cheat Da Grind.

FREE GAME! šŸŽÆšŸ€ A LOT OF KIDS ARE NOT BEING TAUGHT HOW TO ACTUALLY PLAY BASKETBALL. PERIOD! You wonder why your players canā€™t make shots in games? Because they never practice shooting under the pressure of a closeout! You wonder why they constantly settle for bad shots? BECAUSE THEY HAVENā€™T BEEN TAUGHT WHAT A GOOD SHOT IS! We implemented a simple rule with our playersā€¦ THREES OR SHOTS IN THE PAINT. THATā€™S IT! Since implementing that rule, weā€™ve seen MORE MADE THREES, MORE PAINT TOUCHES, MORE ASSISTS and MORE HIGH-PERCENTAGE SHOT OPPORTUNITIES! WHY? Because our players are learning to attack the paint, draw defenders, make the extra pass and create BETTER SHOTS FOR EACH OTHER! Weā€™re teaching our players HOW TO PLAY, not just HOW TO TRAIN! Thereā€™s a difference between being good at drills and being good at basketball! Teach your players shot selection. Teach them spacing. Teach them how to make reads. Teach them how to create advantages. Teach them that a GREAT PASS CAN BE JUST AS VALUABLE AS A MADE BASKET! And most importantly, put them in situations where they have to MAKE DECISIONS! STOP TEACHING KIDS HOW TO LOOK GOOD IN WORKOUTS AND START TEACHING THEM HOW TO BE GOOD AT BASKETBALL! TEACH THESE KIDS HOW TO FUCKIN PLAY THE GAME! CANā€™T CHEAT DA GRIND! šŸ”„

Free Game! šŸŽÆ Footwork is one of the most important skills a player can have. It shows up in every part of the game. You canā€™t be a great shooter without good footwork. You canā€™t handle pressure, stay in front of your man, or get to your spots without it. I see too many trainers teaching kids to go as fast as they can with the ball, or putting up shot after shot without paying attention to their feet. Speed and reps mean a lot less if the foundation isnā€™t there. Slow down. Get your feet right. The details matter. Canā€™t Cheat Da Grind. šŸ”„
