The season where you want to get outside, but sleeping on the ground suddenly feels like an unreasonable request. 🍂

If you’re looking for a fall getaway without the tent, here are 6 cabin stays worth adding to your list!

Save this for your next shoulder-season escape, or send it to the person you’re trying to convince to book a weekend away with you. 👀

A little transparency note: this isn’t a sponsored post! I’ve paid out of pocket for some of these stays, collaborated with a few in the past, and know some of the owners personally. I’m sharing these because they’re places I genuinely recommend and think are worth checking out. 🫶

Half sidekick, half co-captain. 🐾

A great day in the river, scoping out new fishing spots and honey holes for the extended season.

Noah + Dana married at the beautiful @anupaya 🤍

A perfect autumn day, with the Ottawa River as their backdrop, cocktail hour in the vegetable garden, and the sweetest handmade details.
Much more to come from these two and this beautiful celebration✨

I think there are two kinds of people when planning a getaway: the people who want to be out exploring from morning until night… and the people who see a private sauna and immediately cancel the rest of the itinerary.

I am very capable of being both, but lately I’ve become a BIG fan of booking stays where relaxing is actually part of the plan.

Give me a cabin in the woods, a sauna, a hot tub, maybe a cold plunge I’ll spend 20 minutes convincing myself to get into… and suddenly I’m perfectly happy having absolutely nowhere else to be.

And Ontario has some REALLY good stays for exactly that.

Some have their own private little spa setup, others give you access to a full spa experience, and a few just happen to combine a ridiculously cozy stay with a sauna or hot tub in the woods.

So I went through some of my favourite stays and pulled together 8 Ontario getaways with SERIOUS spa vibes. 🧖‍♀️✨

Basically: save this one for the next time you decide you need a weekend that involves a robe and very few responsibilities. 😂

Which one would you book first? 👀

🇫🇷 La version française est dans les commentaires.

Oh ANUPAYA

How sweet you are! Big shout out to Shan and Pete of @anupaya Cabin Co.

What an incredible slice of heaven. Consciously curated. Eco retreat that nourishes the body and soul in a way that I have not experienced.

The view, the coffee and all the little attention to detail make this place a cut above the rest.

The hard work and dedication by these folks is something that you can feel in every aspect of your visit.

Our cabin was pet friendly, so this was the first time I was able to go somewhere with my little reactive guy, and we had the best time! What a shift in confidence for both of us! I cannot wait to adventure again!!

If you haven’t been to Anyupaya yet, I highly recommend you book a visit. Slow season would be my recommendation. Hint, it’s now!

A quick summer recap now that school and all the activities are back in full swing. 😮‍💨

I’ve heard the phrase that we only get 18 summers with our children many times. This year, it started to feel a little less abstract.

As our children get older, there is naturally more time with friends and a little less family time. I want them to have that independence, but it also makes me appreciate the summers when they are still happy to come along.

One thing that helps: bring a friend. Because apparently four children aren’t enough. 😂

A few highlights:

1. Vancouver Island — Cathedral Grove in MacMillan Provincial Park, where some of the Douglas firs are more than 800 years old. My favourite part of the trip. ❤️
2. Tofino — a family surf lesson with Swell Tofino
3. Victoria — the Inner Harbour and Parliament Buildings
4–5. Toronto — High Sociétéa with my Starling friends, plus an excuse to wear my Thierry Colson dress 💜
6. Montréal — the Ferris wheel in Old Montréal
7. Ottawa — a 40 km bike ride with my son. I was so proud of myself after barely riding for two years!
8. Home — summer days relaxing by the pool
9–10. Deep River — beach campfires and early-morning views at Anupaya Cabin Co., one of my favourite quiet slow-living places.

It was full. It was fun. It was a beautiful summer.

For those of you with teenagers, what has actually helped keep them interested in family time and trips as they’ve grown? I’m genuinely taking notes.
