Once upon a time, there was a boy who decided to leave his past behind and start over.
He left behind his career as a primary school teacher and educational consultant at a prestigious university in his home country, choosing to pursue, studying, modelling, acting etc, in a place far away from home. What once seemed like a weekend hobby in his country, has slowly become a new chapter of his life.
Today, Melbourne, in southeastern Australia, is beginning to feel like home. Every runway brings new opportunities, wonderful people, and the chance to grow in ways he once thought might be impossible.
My name is Eddie, and I come from Colombia, a country known for its emeralds, incredible biodiversity, musical talents like Shakira, and unfortunately, stereotypes that often overshadow the beauty of its people and culture.
Today, I proudly carry my Colombian roots while helping share Indonesian culture with the world. After recently travelling to Borneo for international fashion runways, I’m back in Melbourne, ready to keep building connections, celebrating cultural diversity, and creating opportunities for others.
I’m still the same boy full of dreams. Some have already come true, while others are only just beginning. My hope is to use the opportunities I receive to give back, support underrepresented communities, and help bring visibility to people whose voices deserve to be heard.
To every model, photographer, designer, and friend who has been part of this journey, thank you for your kindness, trust, and support. I hope that one day I can give back even a little of the love you have shown me.
Special thanks to Yulia Hadi and María Leeds for building community and continuing to share the beauty of Indonesian culture as ambassadors of this beautiful country. 🇮🇩❤️
