DC WEEKEND RECAP

Took Amtrak straight out of Metro Park, NJ to visit @michaelcolozzi down in our nation’s capital. We covered some serious ground - running and biking across the DMV to hit up a lineup of incredible food spots. Here’s the full rundown on what we ate and drank:

📍 Ted’s Bulletin (Capitol Hill)
Highlights: Homemade pop tarts in Strawberry Frosted, Pumpkin Pie, and Reese’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.

📍 I Egg You (Capitol Hill)
Highlights: Breakfast Quesadilla (chorizo, eggs, cheese, cilantro sauce) and DL’s Egg Drop Breakfast Sandwich (milk bread, bulgogi beef, fontina egg scramble, chives, spicy gochujang aioli)—voted the #2 best breakfast sandwich in DC.

📍 Grazzie Grazzie (The Wharf)
Highlights: La Dolce Vita Sandwich: House-roasted natural turkey, bacon, pickles, mayo, honey mustard, LTO, EVOO + vinegar, and house seasoning. Retzo Sandwich: Hand-breaded chicken, lemon ricotta, prosciutto, Calabrian hot honey, pecorino, basil, arugula, and EVOO.

📍 Stellina Pizzeria (Union Market)
Highlights: Margherita Pizza: Classic tomato sauce, parmesan, mozzarella, and basil. Speck & Gorgonzola Pizza: Smoked mozzarella, gorgonzola, candied walnuts, speck, and acacia honey.

📍 Any Day Now (Navy Yard)
Highlight: Breakfast Scallion Pancake Sandwich with hickory-smoked bacon, steamed egg, American cheese, lo-mayo, chili crisp, plus a side of ultra-crispy hash browns.

📍 Streetcar Brewing (Maryland)
Highlight: Cold Oktoberfest beers.

📍 The Brig (Barracks Row)
Highlight: Buffalo wings, mango wings, loaded chili cheese fries, bourbon slushies, and a few beers.

📍 El Rey (Navy Yard)
Highlight: Buffalo wings and Carne Asada Fries loaded with chipotle, queso, and cotija.

a dc day filled with pop-ups + good eats 👟☕️🍦

one of my favorite things about the dmv is that there’s always something to do, especially with many up-and-coming businesses popping up around the city. after weeks of traveling, i was excited to spend the day making my rounds to a few local favorites (that you also definitely need to know about!)

started in navy yard for @drink.phe × @cantondiscodc for vietnamese coffee + @anydaynowdc chef tim ma’s take on a scallion pancake breakfast sandwich, followed by @snowcraneicecream for pumpkin ice cream inspired by japanese kabocha 🎃

it rained the day before, so i pulled out my cecilie bahnsen × asics gel-cumulus 16s for their water-repellent finish. paired them with another great @nuuly find, this @beachriot fleece, and my friend @215shooter’s collab phillies cap with @hatclub, and my custom levi’s japanese denim from tokyo 👖

what pop-up should i have on my radar this fall? excited for all the autumn flavors coming our way 🍂
