Those Beautiful Days in Rajakkad ❤️

I still remember our first trip to Rajakkad — me, PP, Vinu, and Chachai.
It was a completely new place for me, cold, misty, and surrounded by beautiful greenery.
Still remembering enjoying the window seat on the Venad Express, a private limited-stop bus to Senapathy, watching the beautiful scenery pass by.

We were all young, each of us wondering what the future had in store for us.Reaching Rajakkad on a foggy evening, and we found a room in an unfamiliar little lodge — Sreelakshmi Lodge, if I remember correctly.

Unbelievably cold, and we could hear the sound of a waterfall somewhere nearby. But all PP and I could think about was getting a bottle of McDowell's brandy and a pack of Kings cigarette.

I've tasted some of the finest brandies in the world since then, but nothing has ever tasted as good as that McDowell's we had that evening.

Maybe it wasn't really about the brandy. Maybe it was the weather, the place, the people, and the happiness of those simple days.

Ansari and Sasi joined us later, and together we spent some of the best days of our lives.

Looking back, I feel there was one thing we all had in common.

Love. Just pure, unconditional love.

No expectations, no personal benefits, no worries about what the future might bring. Just a group of friends who genuinely loved being together.
We didn't have much, but we had each other, and that was more than enough.
Years have passed, and life has changed in so many ways, but those days in Rajakkad will always have a special place in my heart.
Sometimes I wish I could go back, not to change anything, but simply to live those moments once again.

We never knew that those ordinary days would one day become some of the most beautiful memories of our lives. ❤️

And of course, we have some of the weirdest photos and even crazier memories from those days. But I guess it's better to keep them to ourselves — some might be a little too offensive to post! 😂❤️

Are birds chirping therapeutic??

Bird songs alleviate anxiety and paranoia in healthy participants according to studies. Do you feel so? These are the little cute ones i met in Kenya💛 If you're already a bird lover, do visit @birdwatching_with_radhika

This is a Golden palm Weaver . They are available around Diani beach in Kenya but you can also find them in all parts of Kenya: thanks for this info @kasosimako

Mottled wood owl..

The mottled wood owl (Strix ocellata) is a species of large owl found in India. They are found in gardens and thin deciduous forests adjacent to dry thorn forests or farmland. They are easily detected by their distinctive tremulous eerie calls at dawn and dusk. The characteristic call is a duet of the male and female while other notes include a low hoot and a screech. Their large size, lack of "ear" tufts and the concentric barring on the face make them easy to identify.
