I've wanted to visit @aori.dining purely from the fun Ferris Wheel presentation I've seen all over socials, and thankfully this place did not disappoint! 🎡🍣

starting with Sydney Rock Oysters with rice vinaigrette, these were fresh and delicious. we also smashed the huge serving of Edamame with Murray River pink salt, we were shocked how generous it was and surprised ourselves by almost finishing each plate 🦪🫛

my personal favourite starter was the Salmon Crispy Rice with karashi kimizu, great combo of crunchy, chewy rice and fresh fish with an addictive zesty flavour. another great fresh starter was the Hiramasa Kingfish Tiradito with ají amarillo leche de tigre, burnt leek oil which was a table favourite

beautifully presented Large Sashimi Platter with tuna, salmon, kingfish, snapper, scallop and oysters so fresh, alongside the iconic Aori Ferris Wheel which requires 12pcs of nigiri variety to be served this way, so we ordered a bunch of Salmon Belly Shake Belly & Scallop Hotate which was so fun! really recommend it because it's just so cute and isn't an extra charge 🩵

the Aburi Salmon with mentaiko mayo, karasumi, lime zest was pretty nice but didn't stand out however the Miso-Glazed Short Rib with jalapeño kosho and grilled lime was sooo bloody good, cooked so well it just melted in my mouth and the glaze was addictively sweet!

Grilled King Prawns with Aori rayu, crème fraîche the sauce was yummy but unfortunately the prawns were overcooked and tough, which did take away from the experience 🦐

for mains we dived into the 250g ‘Tajima’ Wagyu Striploin MB 4+ served with yakiniku sauce and wasabi, perfectly cooked and seasoned, the yakiniku sauce was the perfect accompaniment. perfect pairing with the Shoestring Fries with Aori nori seasoning and the Radicchio & Cos lettuce with ginger-soy dressing both delish 🥬

to end things on a sweet note, we got the Yuzu & Strawberry pavlova with chantilly cream, yuzu curd, yuzu sorbet, compressed strawberry, shiso which was lovely and light and the best way to wrap up! 🥢

A little sake, a little caviar, and nowhere else you need to be.
