🌸 Ester’s Poppy 🌸

If you were at Sedona Pug Social, there’s a good chance your pug went home with a little green poppy on their harness.

You may have thought it was just a cute accessory.

But it was so much more. 💚

In 2023, Ester and I traveled to Buffalo Pug Social with Amy & Heidi of Accessorize Your Pup. The event was hosted by my friend Maggie, who introduced me to Debra, who crafted what became my favorite harness accessory Ester ever had — a bright pink poppy.

I strapped it to her Buddy Belt and loved the way it POPPED against her black fur. Just enough pizazz to soften those gangster edges. 😂

That trip holds so many memories, but the photo I took of Ester at the pug fountain in Toronto wearing her poppy is forever etched in my mind.

So when Sedona came around this year, I knew I wanted Ester’s poppies there — only this time they had to be green, her signature color. 💚

And Deb made that dream come true.

The same person who made Ester’s original pink poppy handmade the green ones you received at Sedona, specifically in her honor.

All weekend I watched your puggies running around wearing them. You may have put yours on thinking, this is adorable.

But I knew.

Every little green poppy I saw was a reminder of my girl, and watching you put them on your pugs meant more to me than you probably realized.

Deb, thank you for taking something so special to Ester and me and bringing it back to life for Sedona. 💚

And just after the event, this photo popped up in my memories — Deb right there in the middle, holding Ester. 🥹 Sometimes a memory finds you at exactly the right time.

So if you brought your green poppy home from Sedona, I hope you’ll keep it.

Because now you know…

It wasn’t just a cute accessory.
It was Ester’s Poppy. 💚🌸

Sedona Pug Social 2026, you have our whole hearts. 💚

For four days, Sedona was filled with pugs, old friends, new friends, and the kind of joy that reminds us why we started Arizona Pug Party & Rescue. From the first hello at check-in to our final goodbyes, you made this weekend feel like one big pug family reunion.

To everyone who traveled to join us, volunteered, brought your pups, sponsored an activity, donated a prize, or helped make a moment special: thank you. You helped turn an idea into a weekend we’ll remember for a long time.

We’re sharing more photos and favorite moments over @sedonapugsocial . For now, tell us: what was your favorite part of Sedona Pug Social? 🐶✨

Oh and should we do this again???!
