Join us Sunday morning for a very special art workshop at our TOURISTS Cabin in the woods.

Drawing as Sensing: A Practice in Attention
with artist Autumn Ahn
Sunday, September 6 @ 9am

Led by local artist @apaxahn, this workshop uses drawing as a way to back into the body. At an unhurried pace, we’ll move through a slow practice of sensing, noticing, and translating internal awareness onto paper, looking beyond the analytical mind and toward something more instinctive.

There is no still life and no technique to master. Over time, through repetition, the practice begins to build what might be called body intelligence: a deepened, cumulative fluency between what is felt and what is brought into the visible world.

No drawing experience necessary. $60 per person for 90 minutes. All materials provided.

Space limited! Sign up through link in bio and meet us at the Lodge on Sunday AM - we’ll walk over to the cabin together

Last Saturday at @fr.moca, Autumn Ahn (@apaxahn) shared a new performance work titled “line: edge, self, horizon” that has been developed in part from our conversations around the work of Gordon Matta-Clark ✨✨✨The beautiful space was bare save for a projection of Conical Intersect (1975) across from two framed collections of her movement sketches✨✨✨An audience filled half the space while Autumn moved throughout the other half, bending two 20 foot metal rods around her body as she spoke in a stream-of-consciousness focused through action - a lecture, a landscape drawing, an opening ✨✨✨ Thank you so much to @brittniannharvey and @harrygouldharveyiv at @fr.moca for collaborating on this project ✨✨✨ I can’t wait see how this work continues to develop ✨✨✨ Congratulations @apaxahn for creating this beautiful experience for us all ✨✨✨ #gordonmattaclark

For the third episode of 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨, 𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 curated by @nina_fiocco and @ga__.mar , mentors @achoubie_zineb and @lorenzo__sandoval led the workshop 𝙒𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙨: 𝘼 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙚𝙨. The participants had the opportunity to move between interconnected genealogies: the historical mutual influence between Andalusian cultures on different sides of the Mediterranean, the forms of inscription on signs in Amazigh tattoos and fabrics, and the transpositions of artisanal forms into industrial manufacturing systems, with a particular focus on fabrics in southern Europe. The research was organically carried out through discursive practice, collective listening, and weaving; and the conversation between Rafael SM Paniagua and Antonio Collados as special guests contributed to expanding the reflection.
With love and gratitude to our mentors, guests, and all residency participants:

The end of the calendar year is a perfect time for change, and I love that. So long to a fun-filled series of events in 2025. Now we can open our hearts to something different, maybe something totally new. Blessings to all my friends and foes. Endless gratitude for the people who take care of those around them, especially my people who take care of me.
