finished load out today. peak exhaustion. peak gratitude. heart full but broken because i know i won’t feel this particular ♾️ feel for sometime. probably for the best. time to forget, so the feeling is born again. the secret sauce is the amazing people who literally bleed for it before it happens and for a little while after. the world’s best people make MAKING TIME ♾️. this is a small assortment of them. there are many more… and a couple BTS before the storm.

Scenes from the third annual Mr. Budd’s Cookout, last weekend at @irwinsupstairs. Always a fun time, good food, and wonderful people. Glad I could be back for it.

My conditional green card expires in three days.
Three years living in Baltimore.
A lot of laughter, a lot of sorrow. A lot of hard work, a lot of setbacks. A lot of growing up, a lot of feeling like a gigantic baby.
Emigrating has felt so weirdly similar to grieving in ways.
You miss the little things.
Everyone is moving forward with their lives and you are too but growing separately. It’s a terribly lonely experience and not something that really ever gets easier but paradoxically I’m glad I took the opportunity, I’m grateful for the friendships forged along the way, the renewed sense of independence & the deeper appreciation I have for my home now.

( for clarity this doesn’t mean I’m leaving effective immediately or getting booted out; it’s just the expiration of my initial green card! )

Sometimes being away from home your whole life isn’t easy…
but I’m thankful to be surrounded by genuinely good people.

Grateful for everyone who showed up yesterday and took a moment to wish me a happy birthday, it meant a lot. It was a great day.

Life’s been teaching me a lot lately… about patience, people, the little things, and what really matters.

I’m grateful for where I’m at and who I’m becoming….but I’m still learning, still growing, still working to be better every day.

Surround yourself with good people. Life is short.
Love you all.
