12years ago at Apex Bar in Portland.
I was chatting with the bartender several weeks previously. She had recommended several @anchoragebrewing beers. I on this visit I had told her that they were fantastic. She was glad that I enjoyed the beers and then gave me a free beer. I turned back to the table and told the group. @carlalamere was very visible upset. The guys had to talk to her and she claimed down. Rick snapped this picture in the heat of the moment. But this is bitterly what happened.

Rainbow Oregon meets hop pride! 🌈🍺 This sticker celebrates two things Oregon does best - embracing everyone and brewing incredible beer. Born from a first-date conversation at a SE Portland beer bar that has since closed - we miss you, Waffles! 🐱

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate FIFTEEN YEARS OPEN EVERYDAY

It's hard to describe what it felt like seeing so many familiar faces smiling, laughing, catching up, raising their glasses, and just having a great time. That's really the whole reason this place is what it is.

Thank you so much.

Gotta maximize my Cota time during Apex's waning days. This place has been one of our favorite spots for a decade, well before we officially moved here. I never knew a Portland without Apex. It's hard to imagine one without it.

Hit them up if you've got a line on a new spot. Ideally one for sale not rent because landlords are the WORST.

Also hit *me* up if you wanna go hang with Cota sometime before they close at the end of the month. He's waiting for you!

14 years ago last May, I pulled up to the soon to be opened ‘Apex’ with my beloved dog Maggie, two bikes on the roof rack, and all of my worldly possessions in my beat to shit Subaru. I was moving, again, this time to chase my now wife to Texas. Dreams are worth chasing. And my friend Jesse did just that. When I pulled up that day, I shared a few cold @sierranevada Pale Ales with Jesse, his Pop, and King C. When I was done, I got in my car and drove to Texas. That was a long time ago, and not everyone from that story is still with us. Soon, Apex, as we have known it will move on too. It’s not because Jesse didn’t try, and it’s not, not because the “landlords” in this town might be the most short sighted dumbasses to ever disgrace the Earth. I would like to say thank you to @apexbar for 14 years. Nothing is ever easy, but loving what you do is. #apexbarpdx
