A 72.088 runtime, good enough for 2nd in class (big congrats to @lol_tires, he pulled half a sec on me by the end), 13th out of 94 in PAX (24th in RAW). Great showing from @jack_lewandowski06 running co-driver with me today, he gained 4.4 seconds on me by the end of his runs, was constantly learning and improving.

Today was all about testing, testing, testing. New tires, figure out the pressures, new APR PCV plate, push that to the limit with the tune, play around with the dampers on the @thunderlane.us TL-One coilovers, alignment is perfect from @beavermarshcalibration.

We broke the hood release somehow, gotta figure out which coolant flow sensor is bad because it's sending high readings (self-clearing after a restart of the engine) that scared me and my co-driver, broke a wheel stud, but the engine itself is sounding and pushing mighty after a work-up done by our friends at @apextuning

Next up, Time Attack with @ncrscca , then NC Autocross Championship with @ccrscca, and then finally running the @tarheelsportscarclub track weekend in November

A first @sccaofficial National level Time Attack Challenge done and dusted out of my old home track, Pocono Raceway! 6th outta 6 in Tuner 3, but with a tire offset from me and the rest of the runners, there's hope for next time (you gotta bring your absolute A game to these National level events!). Additionally, our mk8 PCV retrofit isn't cutting mustard, so we're going all out and throwing on the APR Plate to keep the oil in the engine and not in the induction

A very special thanks to:

@apextuning for full engine teardown/retune
@thunderlane.us for these awesome TL-One coilovers
@beavermarshcalibration for install/alignment/balance of the car on the new coilovers, every work session was a pleasure and a privilege
@carmedixnc for a coolant line repair! we were about to hit the road and a coolant line went and I drove over to their spot on Hwy 55/54, got seen that morning, out the door by lunch, greatly appreciate yall getting us back on the way!
@ptorbik_photography for the awesome shots!
@tarheelsportscarclub for getting me prepared for this by way of their HPDE and Autocross programs!

Loving the new stage 2 tune from @apextuning, pairing up with @armmotorsports catted downpipe and @racinglineperformance turbo inlet pipe, AND cold air intake. My 12 year old #mk7 #gti is sounding and performing like a proper touring racecar. Next up, coilovers and then we'll need to get an eye on a limited slip diff. The hillclimber vision is coming together

For some reason, lost half of the video of the uninstall of the old OEM downpipe out of the #mk7 #gti (didn't miss much) but got the install of the @armmotorsports catted downpipe and proof that stinging ants are already here in NC as they find my juicy legs while I'm trying to work.

Next stop, @apextuning to get the stage 2 flash tomorrow and maybe have them tell me I did the install wrong; I know I should have had someone professional do it, but Sundays are for getting dirty and I needed a reason.

73.2 for my third run at a scorcher Beast of the East with @ncrsolo and @tarheelsportscarclub, enough to take 1st in G Street Touring class and a fun test run after a slew of work done on the #gti from @apextuning. Powertrain performance is there, had a poof of smoke from the PCV, didn't hold the car back much at all, but something we'll want to get cleared up before we head up to Pocono in July for the SCCA Time Attack Challenge. Also need to get those pretty @thunderlane.us coilovers installed, got that scheduled, gotta get the @armmotorsports downpipe put in and have our friends at Apex re-tune to compensate for the freer exhaust

Indie Bookstore Day + chapter 45 = the perfect plot twist 📚✨🎂

Spent my birthday doing what I love most—browsing shelves, buying books, and soaking up the magic of an indie bookstore. But the best part? Having all my girls together. There’s just something special about leaving the group chat for real life and getting to laugh, celebrate, and make memories face to face. 💛 I’m so thank for each of these ladies. My ride or die girls and biggest supporters in this crazy life.

Feeling so grateful for another year, another chapter, and the kind of friendships that make every story sweeter.

Here’s to 45, good books, great friends, and many more beautiful pages ahead. 📖🥂

03/19/2026-03/22/2026 Shoe Creek - Piney River

We hit some of my favorite spots in the GWNF and ended our trip with some great weather down by the Piney River. Fortunately we had an awesome camp neighbor who let us set up near him as the daylight faded. #bronco #xterra_squad #downbytheriver #campvibes
