My experience at last years burn, i've yet to truly share what it was like for me at its core (more to come soon) as Im actually processing and recovering even still. Yes, it's possible for it to take that long, and I'm in the from line of learning that right now and trying to give myself grace versus judge myself. What I love so much about documenting my experiences in any moment is not only sharing these moments with you, but how it warps me back to these moments and the minute details that lead me to consider and then act on capturing what was happening in front of my eyes.

Let me tell you. its moments and people (tag him pls) like this that really make sit back and reflect. I was Standing on top of @robotheartfoundation in a bit of shock and relief that had finally come to fruition and we were all right in the middle of celebrating it. I was done Chile. And this young sole comes up to me and pours his eyes out. With all his excitement and emotions, tells me his experience and challenges as a black man in life and at Burning Man, and what that moment meant to him. I almost couldn't handle it considering my own exhausted state, but I was in awe. Yelling over top of the music… I was captivated by his story, the emotions in his eyes and the expressions on his face. Thank you young man for finding me, for sharing that with me, for continuing to show up in spaces you haven't felt welcomed or treated with love: for your vulnerability and for celebrating with me. The moment will forever last in my mind. Thank you for letting me capture you, to forever last in front of my eyes when I need to take myself back. Diversity in visual media and storytelling matter so damn much.
