Cowboy Carter Tour Atlanta N3 | They call me the captain, the catwalk assassin šŸ’‹ Night three owes me absolutely NOTHING. I finally won Rodeo Queen and it felt SO good. Especially since it was @cecred Sunday!! Let talk about this look: I wanted to do something that was for the culture - with the theme of reclamation and the original cowboys, one huge part that has been missing from the conversation is hair!! Braided hair has been a part of our culture and the Native American culture for centuries. There are many reasons that braids are significant, including spirituality, the functionality to hide and store necessities, and using them as a means of identification. Hair was incorporated on the dress, belt, hat, and shoes. I hand braided, hand sewed, and used fabric glue to put this together and it took 50 hours total. šŸŖ„ā€¢ā€¢ā€¢ this has been one of the roughest semesters of my life. one of the roughest patches in my lifeā€¦but I am reminded always of how loved I am. my village loves me and God is the source. I share these pictures with you, not because Iā€™m trying to brag about my life, not because I consider my life superior, not because Iā€™m trying to put on airsā€¦but I just want you all to know that I love my life. my God given life. this post is only a small fraction of life lately. my dreams, my friends, my smiles, precious moments that I hold so closeā€¦I want you to see. I want you to see so that it will inspire you to love your life out loudā€¦.so it will inspire you to praise God for the goodness He has gifted you. I wanted to give up so many times this semester.
