POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

So, my old MacBook Pro M1 finally decided to call it a day.

It actually gave me a warning the day before. The keyboard and trackpad suddenly stopped working, and I remember scrambling to transfer as many files as I could. But before I could get everything out, even the screen decided to give up.

And there I was, with more than 700GB of working files still stuck inside.

Not exactly something I wanted to deal with, especially with ongoing projects and deadlines to meet.

While trying to figure out how to recover my files, I also had to start thinking about getting a new MacBook. I spent quite a bit of time researching and asking around, mainly because I didn't want to spend more than I needed to.

I mean, it's always tempting to go for better specifications, more RAM, more storage and all that. But when I really thought about how I work and what I actually use my laptop for, I realised I probably didn't need all of that.

So here I am, back to basics with a 13-inch MacBook Air M5, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

And you know what? I'm actually quite happy with the decision.

The smaller size and lighter weight are a nice change too, especially since I'm always moving around, travelling, or finding somewhere outside to sit down and get some work done. Having something that doesn't take up too much space or add unnecessary weight to my bag makes a difference.

It's been almost a week now, and thankfully, with the help of the Apple Genius Bar, I managed to recover all those 700GB of files from my old MacBook.

What a relief.

I'm slowly catching up with my older projects, settling into the new laptop, and looking forward to taking on new work again.

I guess one thing this whole experience reminded me is that I don't always need the best or the most expensive option. Sometimes, knowing what I actually need is enough.

IMO this is the coolest Apple Store in the world.

Located at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, it’s Apple’s first store built directly on the water. Its dome features 114 glass panels with 360° views of the bay and there’s even an underwater boardroom.

S$2,099 for a phone upfront. Or S$77 a month?

The Burgundy iPhone 18 Pro Max is easily the prettiest iPhone yet. But dropping two grand on day one? Not everyone’s doing that, cuz the smarter move is subscribing on @cinchtechsg.

New service plans: Core, Cinch Plus (S$4.99/mo, S$75 repairs) or Cinch Max (S$12.99/mo, S$25 repairs plus a next-day swap option).

Code ADRIN30 for S$30 off. Link in bio.

“Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must, just never give up.”
— Dean Karnazes @ultramarathon

These are words I live by and have applied to my journey with the Marcus Ward Show. I’ve had big dreams since I was a little boy, and no matter what adversity, obstacles, financial limitations, or lack of support I’ve faced, I refuse to give up. I may have to slow down sometimes, but I’m going to keep moving forward. Never give up.
