One of the largest hurdles when starting out in environment paintings is developing your perspective skills. While it is important to understand the traditional methods of setting up your perspective lines, 3D models can greatly help set up a scene efficiently. They also enable you to really mess around with your modeled scene and play with all sorts of angles and lighting!

My top 5 resources for fashion and costume design!!

There are so many great resources online for fashion, archives, and the history of what we've worn around the world- but these are the sites I frequently return to when designing and studying :D

The Met, ArchivePDF, Fashion Institute of Technology, Vogue Archive, and Character Design Reference all help me to create well rounded and well researched costumes for my characters and I hope they can help you too. Go forth and draw!!!

The key to making your portraits look better! 🌊

Understanding edges is not only important for making your art pieces look realistic or create depth, they’re also key in guiding a viewer’s eye and can implemented in other styles or subjects as well. (A show that that handles edge control beautifully and fluidly is arcane.)

To learn more about edges and how to use them effectively, check out Applesforartists.org and its article on edges. ❄️
