Coach said to bring a good luck charm on fight day so I brought my babies in the ring with me with their initials embroidered on both sides of my shorts. I didn’t get the result I was looking for that night. I was disappointed but not at all upset. It was an incredibly hard fight against a skilled opponent but I left it all in that ring. The love and support from my gym, family and friends warmed my heart in a way that I could never of imagined or could ever properly explain. I joined Gracie Barra gym to lose weight and work on myself and I gained a family I never knew I needed so deeply. From my hard body coaches who never shy away from some serious tough love @regan.gowing @ottawamartialarts @markbootsholst - to so many members who have helped me build up my self esteem and self love - to my AMAZING teammates who consistently helped me with any technique or help I asked for @smoochie29 @sarafolk__ins @max.wiegand_ @kimani_mwaura05 @amyleighreid @melissamosleyy @junior_benoit @bradhargroverealestate @bechangeben @mike__patton @relentless_pat_arseneau @stephanlamarche . To specifically @regan.gowing - the friend and coach that holds a very special place in my heart. Who really gave herself to us fighters in and out of the ring so sincerely. I literally could not of ever stepped into the ring without her. To my friends who don’t know the first thing about fighting but supported me month after month through my one sided friendship, non stop blabbering about my techniques and combos that they didn’t understand but still listened and cared about. To my sister who was there for me thick and thin of my emotional rollercoaster of training @grethajaaygee . To my babies who spent days and nights at the gym or days and nights without me at home patiently waiting for their mama to finish training. This sport has made me a better me for me and a better me for them and I am forever grateful. “No one cares if you win or lose.
