Kokonana run club hitting a progression workout.

2km easy into runners choice of loop, descending each loop 6 times…a little cool down and some stretching and a good workout in the books.

We fit every level of runner into our sessions.

You don’t have to be awesome, you just need a passion to run.

Finish it all off with some delicious eats and camaraderie keeps us all coming back for more.

It didn't end up being the #SulphurSprings #race any of us were asking for, but @suesitkiracephotos still managed to capture a few photos of some of our 15 #teamvegantrails runners looking good before conditions really got wild with unrelenting rain, wind, and just so much damn mud!

Thanks everyone (Mother Nature included) for making this year's event a memorable one!

We’re only here to make you GO!!! Super solid crew doing super solid work at @thebridgesat_tillsonburg golf course.

I had a great workout planned for the track, but with something going on there I pivoted.

Hill work adds such a positive training element and makes you walk away feeling accomplished.

With so many races coming up, our athletes are dialling in so that they are race ready.

Are you training for any races this summer? If so connect with me and let’s crush those goals together.

My most powerful wellness tool?
Community.

Not perfection. Not willpower. Not doing more.
But being surrounded by humans who remind you who you are when you forget.

We learn from each other.
We borrow strength.
We lend it back.
We hold one another through hard seasons.
We challenge each other gently - and grow stronger because of it.

If you’re doing wellness alone… you’re missing the magic.

As much as we can dislike them…no one can dispute the benefits of hill training.

Hill training is one of the most effective ways to build strength, speed, and resilience without increasing injury risk.

Running uphill naturally forces better form — higher knee lift, stronger arm drive, and a more powerful stride — which carries over to faster, more efficient running on flat terrain.

The increased muscular demand strengthens key running muscles (glutes, calves, hamstrings), boosts aerobic capacity, and elevates lactate threshold. Hills also teach pacing, improve mental toughness, and simulate the demands of racing, especially in triathlon where varied terrain is the norm.

Because the impact is lower when running uphill, athletes get major performance gains with less stress on the body.

Are you looking to get strong this winter? Reach out to me and let’s get a hill workout that’s right for you

Learning new skills takes some time and ahem…practice lol. But by working on some of these new skills we can start to fully develop our true potential.

We all look a little funny when we start something new, but hey that’s growth and I for one would rather look a little funny, than stay stuck in the same rut trying to figure out why that is.

The first day is going to feel weird…the second day maybe the same if not worse. But by the third or fourth day our bodies have this internal dialogue that says “hey so we’re doing this now” and boom…all of a sudden you’re doing the thing.

Being afraid to try new things is natural, but that reward is so so worth it.

Thank you @abril_ffv for taking some time to show us some sprinters drills and techniques and joining our Kokonana squad.

I’m George Papadakos, triathlon and run coach, and I approve this message.

Almost a year ago I wanted more. Not just for me but for the running community of Tillsonburg.

So the OG of Kokonana Multisport racing got to work recruiting peeps of the same like mind and those that were itching to find community they so desperately needed or didn’t know they needed.

What happened next was a beautiful fusion of runners and personalities that gelled and collectively brought their amazing and authentic selves to this running soup.

One year later we are a lovingly, disfunctional running family with so many levels of runners and laughter.

And here’s the thing. Your goals are our goals. We help you push when you don’t want to, and you help us push when we don’t want to.

Come out and join us this Saturday and find out what we are all about. I promise you won’t regret it.

Message me for details.

Growing our community day by day continues to be at the top of our priorities.

Kokonana triathlon and run club have had so many amazing victories this year as we’ve grown together.

We want you to join us as we head into the fall season.

Why not start with a little 5k Time trial or fun run and then join us for some sweets and coffee after. Our crazy community would love to meet you.

RSVP me to get more details.
