OPENING TOMORROW - Tuesday 15th September 5-7pm
I am included in a group exhibition ‘Recent Prints’ at Gow Langsford Gallery - Auckland City @gowlangsford
The exhibition is on till the 10th October

I will be showing recent prints I made with John Pusateri at @aps.editions. I worked with John over several months in 2025 to create unique hand rolled Chine-Colle prints and a series of Lithographs/Woodprints. Like a mini residency I would head up to Ruakākā for several days at a time to immerse myself in the inks and the printing process. I have worked extensively with screen printing but Lithography and Chine-Colle were new to me.

It was a fantastic opportunity to work alongside John who is a skilful artist/print maker, to experiment with ideas and be introduced to new techniques. Its felt invigorating and restorative, long days and nights to have full focus on making. Such a different process than being solo in the studio, more like a dialogue where ideas and techniques meet and develop.

There is much labour and care in the printing process, ink is hand rolled and applied, the press is then rolled by hand across the plates or stones, all done on presses from last century. The process feels steeped in tradition but full of innovation and possibility. Bought to life by Johns passion for printmaking, its history and its contemporary incarnations. A big thank you also to @akikodiegel a wonderful artist and dear friend who kindly assisted me with some of the fiddly assembling.

I’m delighted to be exhibiting alongside @gregor_kregar, @reuben_paterson, @maxgimblettstudio and @cousins_james

I will be at the opening this Tuesday 15th September if you feel like dropping in for a drink.
