SAY HELLO TO THE FIRST WORKSHOP OF THE NEW SEASON

𖣦•₊˚. STRUCTURE OF SOUND DESIGN: A Workshop By @apu.nanu
18/11-03/02, 10 2h sessions

•˚Α solid grasp of the fundamentals of synthesis and sound in the digital realm. A deep dive into different types of synthesizers and their architecture, the modularity of digital synthesizers, and their endless capabilities. The class will also explore sound for moving images, Foley editing, layering, and treating sound design as a storytelling tool.

The goal is to develop a broader understanding of the skills and creative approaches a sound designer needs to work across different mediums, while building the fluency to approach and experiment with any synthesizer, designing sound through systems you create using tools like Ableton Live, Max for Live, and Reaktor.

•˚•₊˚. Michalis Chondrokoukis•₊˚. is a music producer and sound designer based in Athens. Through his project Apu Nanu, he creates left-field, forward-thinking electronic music. Trained in both Eastern and Western music traditions, he is a multi-instrumentalist interested in exploring new approaches to digital composition and sound design. He has composed original music for performances, choreographies, and exhibitions showcased at venues such as the Benaki Museum and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, as well as having worked as a sound designer and composer across indie video game projects. Since 2024, he has performed live across major cities including London, Berlin, Tokyo, Shanghai, and in 2025 he performed at the Athens Epidaurus Festival. He has also collaborated with internationally recognized brands including Splice, Valentino, and Display Type Foundry, contributing sounds and music for commissioned projects and campaigns.

A brass ceiling opens, words and whispers reverberate in ur thorax, thrum under ur skin. A wondrous room,
assorted paraphernalia for your scopophilic indulgences.

A fever dream that you re not sure you ever dreamed, a déja vu from a past life,
the peculiar encounters you,
obscure serenades, metallic chatter, pipe dreams, dark castles made of air hissing in dissonance.
A sharp breath against the stained glass reveals engraved symbols:

There is an endless list of artists who continue to inspire me and shape the course of my artistic practice by drawing me, again and again, into the emotional landscapes they create through sound.

Here is a small selection of them in a mix broadcast on @radioraheem.milano on July 24th. Their sonic worlds have been an important part of my journey, and I'm grateful to share this small glimpse into them.

You'll find the link in my bio and in @radioraheem.milano 's archive.
