Legs for days, melanin in abundance, and two marvelous creatures who could quite reasonably have been mistaken for part of the exhibition. Modesty has never been particularly useful in the arts. 💅🏽🎨

A lovely afternoon at @bggallery , Bergamot Station, where I had the pleasure of exhibiting in INSPIRED ART alongside a wonderfully talented group of creatives including my talented friend @apugomes

One image. Two visions. Eleven creative collaborations.

The premise was rather brilliant: one photographer captures an image, another artist interprets it, and everyone is reminded that two people can look at precisely the same thing and arrive at entirely different conclusions. Rather like dating, but with considerably better results.

I genuinely loved the concept. Art is, after all, a rather wonderful exercise in seeing what others might not.

A special thank you to the lovely curator @dawndhi , who also had work in the exhibition and was an absolute delight. 💕

Thank you to BG Gallery for hosting us, and congratulations to all my fellow artists! I met some genuinely wonderful creative people, saw some fantastic work, and enjoyed an afternoon of excellent conversations with people whose brains are, reassuringly, just as peculiar as mine.

Naturally, we also took a moment to appreciate the art outside the frames. Two rather leggy specimens with an unreasonable amount of melanin. Neither currently for sale.

All in all, a thoroughly successful exhibition. Art was admired, connections were made, and nobody asked me to explain what my painting really means more than was socially acceptable.

A triumph, frankly. 🥂💕 #bggallery #inspiredarts #sober #artexhibition #santamonica

2023 is in the rearview, but I couldn’t start posting my 2024 pictures before posting some pictures of the most massive swell that I’ve seen at California’s coastline since I’ve living here. December 30th was epic!

Pictures by @apugomes July 2023.
Earlier this year the Yosemite National Park remained closed for a few weeks due to record-setting amounts of snow. Now that all these snow is melting, it’s making for spectacular waterfalls…maybe too spectacular! Yosemite is always astonishing, every time, no matter what!!!

Thanks @lilibmolina @luiz.p.dias.7 @celsones @nick_rauen and @rrlouie for keeping the tradition alive, and also @cleyceb @ferbettisal @bernardobenevenuto and @baze_laze for the earlier call! 🏞️🌲🌈✨🐻
